Os utensílios do templo

1 Salomão também mandou fazer um altar de bronze de vinte côvados*4.1 Isto é, cerca de 9 metros. de comprimento por vinte côvados de largura e dez côvados*4.1 Isto é, cerca de 4,5 metros de altura; também no versículo 2. de altura. 2 Fez o tanque de metal fundido, redondo, que media dez côvados de diâmetro por cinco côvados*4.2 Isto é, cerca de 2,3 metros. de altura. Era preciso uma linha de trinta côvados*4.2 Isto é, cerca de 13,5 metros. para medir a sua circunferência. 3 Abaixo da borda e ao seu redor, havia figuras de touro, dez por côvado.*4.3 Isto é, cerca de 45 centímetros. Os touros foram fundidos em duas fileiras e em uma só peça com o tanque.

4 O tanque ficava sobre doze touros, cujas pernas traseiras eram voltadas para o centro. Três touros se voltavam para o norte, três para o oeste, três para o sul e três para o leste. 5 A espessura do tanque era de um palmo,*4.5 Isto é, cerca de 7,5 centímetros. cuja borda era como a borda de um cálice, como uma flor de lírio. Tinha capacidade para três mil batos.*4.5 Isto é, cerca de 66.000 litros.

6 Fez dez pias e pôs cinco no lado sul e cinco no lado norte. Nelas se lavava tudo o que era usado nos holocaustos;*4.6 Isto é, sacrifícios totalmente queimados. o tanque, porém, servia para os sacerdotes se lavarem.

7 Fez dez candelabros de ouro, de acordo com o modelo especificado, e os pôs no templo, cinco no lado sul e cinco no lado norte.

8 Fez dez mesas e as pôs no templo, cinco no lado sul e cinco no lado norte. Também fez cem bacias de ouro para aspersão.

9 Fez ainda o pátio dos sacerdotes e o pátio principal com as suas portas, que foram revestidas de bronze. 10 Pôs o tanque no lado sul, no canto sudeste do templo.

11 Também fez as panelas, as pás e as bacias para aspersão.

Assim, Hurão completou o trabalho de que fora encarregado pelo rei Salomão no templo de Deus:

12 as duas colunas;

os dois capitéis em forma de taça no alto das colunas;

os dois conjuntos de correntes que cobriam os dois capitéis;

13 as quatrocentas romãs para os dois conjuntos de correntes, sendo duas fileiras de romãs para cada conjunto de correntes que cobriam os dois capitéis em forma de taça no alto das colunas;

14 os dez suportes com as dez bacias;

15 o tanque e os doze touros debaixo dele;

16 as panelas, as pás, os garfos de carne e todos os utensílios afins.

Todos esses utensílios que Hurão-Abi fez para o templo do Senhor, a pedido do rei Salomão, eram de bronze polido. 17 Foi na planície do Jordão, entre Sucote e Zeredá, que o rei os mandou fundir em moldes de barro. 18 Salomão os fez em tão grande quantidade que não se pôde determinar o peso do bronze utilizado.

19 Salomão também mandou fazer todos estes outros utensílios para o templo de Deus:

o altar de ouro;

as mesas sobre as quais ficavam os pães da Presença;

20 os candelabros de ouro puro com as suas lâmpadas, para iluminarem diante do santuário interno, conforme ordenado;

21 as flores, as lâmpadas e os cortadores de pavio de ouro maciço;

22 os cortadores de pavio, as bacias para aspersão, as tigelas, os incensários de ouro puro e as portas de ouro do templo: tanto as portas da sala interna, o Lugar Santíssimo, quanto as portas do átrio principal.

1 Moreover he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length thereof, and twenty cubits the breadth thereof, and ten cubits the height thereof. 2 Also he made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass; and the height thereof was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about. 3 And under it was the likeness of oxen, which did compass it round about, for ten cubits, compassing the sea round about. The oxen were in two rows, cast when it was cast. 4 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set upon them above, and all their hinder parts were inward. 5 And it was a handbreadth thick; and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily: it received and held three thousand baths. 6 He made also ten lavers, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them; such things as belonged to the burnt-offering they washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.

7 And he made the ten candlesticks of gold according to the ordinance concerning them; and he set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left. 8 He made also ten tables, and placed them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. And he made a hundred basins of gold. 9 Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid the doors of them with brass. 10 And he set the sea on the right side of the house eastward, toward the south. 11 And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basins.

So Huram made an end of doing the work that he wrought for king Solomon in the house of God: 12 the two pillars, and the bowls, and the two capitals which were on the top of the pillars, and the two networks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars, 13 and the four hundred pomegranates for the two networks; two rows of pomegranates for each network, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were upon the pillars. 14 He made also the bases, and the lavers made he upon the bases; 15 one sea, and the twelve oxen under it. 16 The pots also, and the shovels, and the flesh-hooks, and all the vessels thereof, did Huram his father make for king Solomon, for the house of Jehovah, of bright brass. 17 In the plain of the Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredah. 18 Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: for the weight of the brass could not be found out.

19 And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables whereon was the showbread; 20 and the candlesticks with their lamps, to burn according to the ordinance before the oracle, of pure gold; 21 and the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold, and that perfect gold; 22 and the snuffers, and the basins, and the spoons, and the firepans, of pure gold. And as for the entry of the house, the inner doors thereof for the most holy place, and the doors of the house, to wit, of the temple, were of gold.
