Gênesis 22

16 e disse:

— Juro por mim mesmo — declara o Senhor — que, por ter feito o que fez, não me negando o seu filho, o seu único filho, 17 esteja certo de que o abençoarei e farei a sua descendência tão numerosa como as estrelas do céu e como a areia à beira-mar. A sua descendência conquistará as cidades dos seus inimigos 18 e, por meio dela, todas as nações da terra serão abençoadas, porque você me obedeceu.

16 and said, By myself have I sworn, saith Jehovah, because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, 17 that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is upon the sea-shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
