A origem dos povos

1 Este é o registro dos descendentes*10.1 Hebraico: Estas são as gerações. de Sem, Cam e Jafé, filhos de Noé. Os filhos deles nasceram depois do dilúvio.

Os jafetitas

6 Estes foram os filhos de Cam:

7 Estes foram os filhos de Cuxe:

Sebá, Havilá, Sabtá, Raamá e Sabtecá.

Estes foram os filhos de Raamá:

Sabá e Dedã.

8 Cuxe foi o pai de*10.8 Pai pode ter o sentido de ancestral, líder ou fundador; também nos versículos 13, 15, 24 e 26. Sidom, o seu primogênito, de Hete,*10.15 Ou os sidônios, os primeiros, e os hititas.16 como também dos jebuseus, dos amorreus, dos girgaseus, 17 dos heveus, dos arqueus, dos sineus, 18 dos arvadeus, dos zemareus e dos hamateus.

Posteriormente, os clãs cananeus se espalharam. 19 As fronteiras de Canaã estendiam-se desde Sidom, iam até Gerar e chegavam a Gaza; de lá, prosseguiam até Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá e Zeboim, chegando até Lasa.

20 Estes são os descendentes de Cam, conforme os seus clãs e línguas, nos seus territórios e nações.

Os semitas

21 Sem, irmão mais velho de Jafé,*10.21 Ou Sem, cujo irmão mais velho era Jafé. também gerou filhos. Sem foi o antepassado de todos os filhos de Héber.

22 Estes foram os filhos de Sem:

Elão, Assur, Arfaxade, Lude e Arã.

23 Estes foram os filhos de Arã:

Uz, Hul, Géter e Meseque.*10.23 Conforme a Septuaginta. O Texto Massorético traz Más. Veja 1Cr 1.17.

24 Arfaxade foi o pai de

Salá,*10.24 Conforme o Texto Massorético. A Septuaginta traz pai de Cainã, e Cainã gerou Salá. e este gerou Héber.

25 A Héber nasceram dois filhos:

um deles se chamou Pelegue,*10.25 Pelegue significa divisão. porque na sua época a terra foi dividida; o seu irmão chamou-se Joctã.

26 Joctã foi o pai de

Almodá, Salefe, Hazarmavé, Jerá, 27 Adorão, Uzal, Dicla, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sabá, 29 Ofir, Havilá e Jobabe. Todos estes foram filhos de Joctã.

30 A região onde viviam estendia-se de Messa até Sefar, nas colinas a leste.

31 Estes são os descendentes de Sem, conforme os seus clãs e línguas, nos seus territórios e nações.

32 Estes são os clãs dos filhos de Noé, distribuídos nas suas nações, conforme a história da sua descendência. Deles, os povos se dispersaram pela terra após o dilúvio.

6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. 7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. 8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD. 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.*10.10 Babel: Gr. Babylon 11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,*10.11 went…: or, he went out into Assyria*10.11 the city…: or, the streets of the city 12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city. 13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim, 14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.

15 And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,*10.15 Sidon: Heb. Tzidon 16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite, 17 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite, 18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad. 19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.*10.19 Gaza: Heb. Azzah 20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born. 22 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.*10.22 Arphaxad: Heb. Arpachshad 23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash. 24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.*10.24 Salah: Heb. Shelah 25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.*10.25 Peleg: that is Division 26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah, 27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, 28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba, 29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan. 30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east. 31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations. 32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
