", perguntaram eles.10 Ele respondeu: "Ao entrarem na cidade, vocês encontrarão um homem carregando um pote de água. Façam ali os preparativos".13 Eles saíram e encontraram tudo como Jesus lhes tinha dito. Então, prepararam a Páscoa.14 Quando chegou a hora, Jesus e os seus apóstolos reclinaram-se à mesa.15 E disse-lhes: "Desejei ansiosamente comer esta Páscoa com vocês antes de sofrer.16 Pois eu lhes digo: Não comerei dela novamente até que se cumpra no Reino de Deus".17 Recebendo um cálice, ele deu graças e disse: "Tomem isto e partilhem uns com os outros.18 Pois eu lhes digo que não beberei outra vez do fruto da videira até que venha o Reino de Deus".19 Tomando o pão, deu graças, partiu-o e o deu aos discípulos, dizendo: "Isto é o meu corpo dado em favor de vocês; façam isto em memória de mim".20 Da mesma forma, depois da ceia, tomou o cálice, dizendo: "Este cálice é a nova aliança no meu sangue, derramado em favor de vocês.21 "Mas eis que a mão daquele que vai me trair está com a minha sobre a mesa.22 O Filho do homem vai, como foi determinado; mas ai daquele que o trai! Pelo contrário, o maior entre vocês deverá ser como o mais jovem, e aquele que governa como o que serve.27 Pois quem é maior: o que está à mesa, ou o que serve? Não é o que está à mesa? Mas eu estou entre vocês como quem serve.28 Vocês são os que têm permanecido ao meu lado durante as minhas provações.29 E eu lhes designo um Reino, assim como meu Pai o designou a mim,30 para que vocês possam comer e beber à minha mesa no meu Reino e sentar-se em tronos, julgando as doze tribos de Israel.31 "Simão, Simão, Satanás pediu vocês para peneirá-los como trigo.32 Mas eu orei por você, para que a sua fé não desfaleça. 1 The feast of unleavened bread was near. This is called the Passover.2 The chief priests and the scribes searched for a way to put him to death. But they feared the people.3 Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot. He was one of the twelve.4 He went away to discuss with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver Jesus to them.5 They were glad, and pledged to give him money.6 He consented and looked for a way to deliver him to them in the absence of the crowd.7 The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.8 Jesus sent Peter and John, saying: »Go make everything ready that we may eat the Passover.«9 They asked him: »Where do you want us to get ready?«10 He said: »When you enter the city a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him: »Before the cockcrow this day you will deny me three times.«62 He left there and wept bitterly.63 The men that held Jesus mocked him and beat him.64 They blindfolded him, and asked him, saying: »Prophesy: who is it that struck you?«65 They reviled him and spoke many things against him.66 The next day the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together. They included chief priests and scribes. They led him away to their council, saying:67 »If you are the Christ, tell us.« But he said to them: »If I tell you, you will not believe:68 and if I ask you, you will not answer.«69 »Soon the Son of man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.«70 They all asked: »Are you the Son of God?« He said to them: »You say that I am.«71 They responded: »What further need do we have for witnesses? We have heard this from his mouth.«
