1 Meu filho, se você aceitar as minhas palavras e guardar no coração os meus mandamentos;2 se der ouvidos à sabedoria e inclinar o coração para o discernimento;3 se clamar por entendimento e por discernimento gritar bem alto,4 se procurar a sabedoria como se procura a prata e buscá-la como quem busca um tesouro escondido,5 então você entenderá o que é temer ao Senhor e achará o conhecimento de Deus.6 Pois o Senhor é quem dá sabedoria; de sua boca procedem o conhecimento e o discernimento.7 Ele reserva a sensatez para o justo; como um escudo protege quem anda com integridade,8 pois guarda a vereda do justo e protege o caminho de seus fiéis.9 Então você entenderá o que é justo, direito e certo, e aprenderá os caminhos do bem.10 Pois a sabedoria entrará em seu coração, e o conhecimento será agradável à sua alma.11 O bom senso o guardará, e o discernimento o protegerá.12 A sabedoria o livrará do caminho dos maus, dos homens de palavras perversas,13 que abandonam as veredas retas para andar por caminhos de trevas,14 têm prazer em fazer o mal e exultam com a maldade dos perversos,15 gente que anda por veredas tortuosas, e no caminho se extraviam.16 Ela também o livrará da mulher imoral, da pervertida que seduz com suas palavras,17 que abandona aquele que desde a juventude foi seu companheiro e ignora a aliança que fez diante de Deus.18 Ela se dirige para morte, que é a sua casa, e os seus caminhos levam às sombras.19 Os que a ela procuram jamais voltarão, nem tornarão a encontrar as veredas da vida.20 A sabedoria o fará andar nos caminhos dos homens de bem e a manter-se nas veredas dos justos.21 Pois os justos habitarão na terra, e os íntegros nela permanecerão;22 mas os ímpios serão eliminados da terra, e dela os infiéis serão arrancados.

1 My son, take my words to heart and treasure my commandments within you.2 Pay close attention to wisdom, and let your mind and heart inner being reach for discernment.3 Call out for insight. Lift up your voice for understanding.4 Search for wisdom as if it were silver. Hunt for it as if it were hidden treasure!5 If you do these things you will have respect for Jehovah and you will find the true knowledge of God!6 Jehovah gives wisdom. From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.7 He stores up insightful soundsubstantial wisdom for the upright. He is a shield for those who walk in integrity.8 He guards those on paths of justice. He watches over the way of his godly ones.9 You will understand righteousness and justice. You will have equity and every good course in life.10 Wisdom enters your heart. Knowledge gives you pleasure.11 Discretion will protect you. Understanding will watch over you.12 It will deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things.13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness?14 Who rejoice in doing evil? They delight in the perversity of the wicked.15 The wicked are crooked. They are devious in their ways.16 You will be able to resist any immoral woman who tries to seduce you with her smooth talk.17 She is unfaithful to her own husband and forgets her sacred vows to God.18 If you go to her house, you are traveling the road to death. To go there is to approach the dead.19 No one who visits her ever comes back. He cannot return to the road to life.20 You must follow the example of good people and live a righteous life.21 The upright will live in the land. The blameless people of integrity will remain.22 The wicked will be cut off from the land. The unfaithful will be uprooted.
