1 Certo dia Pedro e João estavam subindo ao templo na hora da oração, às três horas da tarde.2 Estava sendo levado para a porta do templo chamada Formosa um aleijado de nascença, que ali era colocado todos os dias para pedir esmolas aos que entravam no templo.3 Vendo que Pedro e João iam entrar no pátio do templo, pediu-lhes esmola.4 Pedro e João olharam bem para ele e, então, Pedro disse: "Olhe para nós! "5 O homem olhou para eles com atenção, esperando receber deles alguma coisa.6 Disse Pedro: "Não tenho prata nem ouro, mas o que tenho, isto lhe dou. Em nome de Jesus Cristo, o Nazareno, ande".7 Segurando-o pela mão direita, ajudou-o a levantar-se, e imediatamente os pés e os tornozelos do homem ficaram firmes.8 E de um salto pôs-se de pé e começou a andar. Depois entrou com eles no pátio do templo, andando, saltando e louvando a Deus.9 Quando todo o povo o viu andando e louvando a Deus,10 reconheceu que era ele o mesmo homem que costumava mendigar sentado à porta do templo chamada Formosa. Todos ficaram perplexos e muito admirados com o que lhe tinha acontecido.11 Apegando-se o mendigo a Pedro e João, todo o povo ficou maravilhado e correu até eles, ao lugar chamado Pórtico de Salomão.12 Vendo isso, Pedro lhes disse: "Israelitas, por que isto os surpreende? Por que vocês estão olhando para nós, como se tivéssemos feito este homem andar por nosso próprio poder ou piedade?13 O Deus de Abraão, de Isaque e de Jacó, o Deus dos nossos antepassados, glorificou seu servo Jesus, a quem vocês entregaram para ser morto e negaram perante Pilatos, embora ele tivesse decidido soltá-lo.14 Vocês negaram publicamente o Santo e Justo e pediram que lhes fosse libertado um assassino.15 Vocês mataram o autor da vida, mas Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos. E nós somos testemunhas disso.16 Pela fé no nome de Jesus, o Nome curou este homem que vocês vêem e conhecem. A fé que vem por meio dele lhe deu esta saúde perfeita, como todos podem ver.17 "Agora, irmãos, eu sei que vocês agiram por ignorância, bem como os seus líderes.18 Mas foi assim que Deus cumpriu o que tinha predito por todos os profetas, dizendo que o seu Cristo haveria de sofrer.19 Arrependam-se, pois, e voltem-se para Deus, para que os seus pecados sejam cancelados,20 para que venham tempos de descanso da parte do Senhor, e ele mande o Cristo, o qual lhes foi designado, Jesus.21 É necessário que ele permaneça no céu até que chegue o tempo em que Deus restaurará todas as coisas, como falou há muito tempo, por meio dos seus santos profetas.22 Pois disse Moisés: ‘O Senhor Deus lhes levantará dentre seus irmãos um profeta como eu; ouçam-no em tudo o que ele lhes disser.23 Quem não ouvir esse profeta, será eliminado do meio do seu povo’.24 "De fato, todos os profetas, de Samuel em diante, um por um, falaram e predisseram estes dias.25 E vocês são herdeiros dos profetas e da aliança que Deus fez com os seus antepassados. Ele disse a Abraão: ‘Por meio da sua descendência todos os povos da terra serão abençoados’.26 Tendo Deus ressuscitado o seu Servo, enviou-o primeiramente a vocês, para abençoá-los, convertendo cada um de vocês das suas maldades".

1 Now Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, [being] the ninth [hour].2 And a certain man who was lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those who entered into the temple;3 who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked to receive an alms.4 And Peter, fastening his eyes on him, with John, said, Look at us.5 And he gave heed to them, expecting to receive something from them.6 But Peter said, Silver and gold I have none; but what I have, that I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.7 And he took him by the right hand, and raised him up: and immediately his feet and his anklebones received strength.8 And leaping up, he stood, and began to walk; and he entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:10 and they took knowledge of him, that it was he who sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him.11 And as he held Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.12 And when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, Men, Israelites, why do you{+} marvel at this man? Or why do you{+} fasten your{+} eyes on us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him to walk?13 The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus; whom you{+} delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.14 But you{+} denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a man [who was] a murderer to be granted to you{+},15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses.16 And by faith in his name has his name made this man strong, whom you{+} see and know: yes, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of all of you{+}.17 And now, brothers, I know that in ignorance you{+} participated in it, as also did your{+} rulers.18 But the things which God foreshowed by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled.19 Repent{+} therefore, and turn again, that your{+} sins may be blotted out;20 so that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ who has been appointed for you{+}, [even] Jesus:21 whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, of which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets that have been from of old.22 Moses indeed said, A prophet will Yahweh your{+} God raise up to you{+} from among your{+} brothers, like me. To him you{+} will listen in all things whatever he will speak to you{+}.23 And it will be, that every soul that will not listen to that prophet, will be completely destroyed from among the people.24 Yes and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days.25 You{+} are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with your{+} fathers, saying to Abraham, And in your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.26 To you{+} first, God having raised up his Son, sent him to bless you{+}, in turning away each [of you{+}] from your{+} iniquities.
