1 A seguir ouvi a alta voz de uma enorme multidão no céu, clamando:

"Louvem o Senhor!

Só nele há salvação!

Pertencem-lhe, só a ele, toda a honra, todo o poder!

2 Porque as suas sentenças são justas e conforme a verdade.

Castigou essa grande prostituta

que corrompia a Terra com a sua imoralidade sexual.

E foi assim que lhe pediu conta

do sangue daqueles que serviam a Deus,

e que foram assassinados no meio dela."

3 E repetiam sempre:

"Louvem o Senhor!

Para sempre há de subir o fumo do seu incêndio!"

4 Então os vinte e quatro anciãos e os quatro seres viventes inclinaram-se até ao chão e adoraram a Deus, que estava sentado no trono, com estas palavras:

"É essa a verdade! Louvem o Senhor!"

5 Veio uma voz do trono que dizia:

"Louvem o nosso Deus,

todos os que o servem e o temem,

tanto grandes como pequenos."

6 E ouvi de novo um clamor enorme como o de uma multidão imensa, como o de muitas vagas de um mar agitado ou como o de sucessivos trovões:

"Louvem o Senhor!

Porque o Senhor, nosso Deus,

que tem todo o poder, é quem reina.

7 Alegremo-nos, com intenso júbilo,

prestemos-lhe a nossa profunda homenagem.

Chegou a altura do Cordeiro receber a sua noiva,

a qual já se aprontou.

8 Ela tem o direito de se vestir

do linho mais fino e mais branco."

Esse linho representa as obras justas e boas que praticam os filhos de Deus.

9 E foi-me dito por um anjo que escrevesse o seguinte: "Felizes aqueles que são convidados para a festa de casamento do Cordeiro." E ainda: "Foi Deus mesmo quem declarou isto."

10 Então lancei-me aos pés do anjo para o adorar, mas ele disse-me: "Não! Não faças isso! Só a Deus deves adorar! Eu estou ao serviço de Deus, tal como tu e os teus irmãos, que são testemunhas de Jesus. Adora a Deus. O motivo da profecia é para dar um testemunho claro de Jesus."

11 Vi então o céu aberto e aparecer um cavalo branco montado por alguém que se chamava Fiel e Verdadeiro; aquele que julga e combate com justiça. 12 Os seus olhos eram como labaredas e na cabeça tinha muitas coroas. E tinha um nome escrito nela que só ele sabia. 13 A roupa que vestia tinha marcas de sangue; o seu nome é a Palavra de Deus. 14 Os exércitos do céu, vestidos de linho fino, do mais branco e puro, seguiam-no em cavalos igualmente brancos. 15 Na sua boca segurava uma espada afiada para com ela vencer as nações. Ele as governará com uma vara de ferro; será ele próprio quem há de pisar no lagar de Deus Todo-Poderoso o vinho da sua justa cólera contra o pecado. 16 No manto que trazia, e abaixo da cintura, tinha escrito este título:

rei dos reis e senhor dos senhores.

17 Vi então um anjo que recebia a luz que vinha do Sol e que bradava em alta voz a todas as aves de rapina que cruzam os ares: "Venham! Juntem-se para comer aquilo que o grande Deus vos dá; 18 a carne dos que governam e a carne dos reis, generais e dos grandes guerreiros, a carne dos cavalos e dos que os montavam; enfim, a carne de todos, livres e escravos, grandes e pequenos."

19 Depois vi o monstro reunindo os governantes da Terra e os seus exércitos para lutarem contra aquele que está montado no cavalo e contra o seu exército. 20 E o monstro foi feito prisioneiro e com ele o falso profeta; aquele que tinha podido fazer sinais na presença do monstro e com os quais enganava aqueles que tinham aceitado ser marcados com o sinal e adoravam a sua estátua. Ambos foram jogados vivos no lago de fogo que queima com enxofre ardente. 21 E todos os soldados daqueles exércitos foram mortos com a espada afiada que estava na boca do que montava o cavalo, e todas as aves de rapina se fartaram com aquela carne humana.

1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
