1 Ouçam! Alguém tem sede? Venha e beba mesmo que não tenha dinheiro! Venha, escolha o que quiser de vinho e leite, é tudo de graça! 2 Porque é que gastam o dinheiro naquilo que não vos alimenta? Por que razão hão de aplicar o produto do vosso trabalho em coisas que não vos servem de nada? Ouçam-me bem e dir-vos-ei onde podem obter o melhor alimento que fortalecerá a vossa alma! 3 Venham, com os ouvidos bem abertos! Escutem, porque a vossa vida está em jogo! Farei convosco uma aliança para sempre e realizarei a vosso favor todas as promessas sagradas e maravilhosas que garanti a David. 4 Ele teve a prova do meu poder quando conquistou nações estrangeiras. 5 Vocês controlarão igualmente nações, que virão apressadamente para vos obedecer, não por causa do vosso próprio poder ou virtude, mas porque eu, o Senhor, vosso Deus, o Santo de Israel, vos glorifiquei!"

6 Busquem o Senhor enquanto é possível encontrá-lo! Invoquem-no enquanto está perto! 7 Deixem os perversos a sua má conduta! Expulsem a maldade da sua mente e voltem-se para o Senhor que terá misericórdia deles! Voltem-se para o nosso Deus que terá para eles abundantes reservas de perdão!

8 O Senhor declara: "Os meus pensamentos não são os mesmos que os vossos e os vossos caminhos não são os mesmos que os meus. 9 Porque assim como os céus estão muito acima da Terra, também os meus caminhos são muito superiores aos vossos e os meus pensamentos muito acima dos vossos. 10 A chuva e a neve descem do céu para regar a terra, tornar produtiva a vegetação e dar vida à natureza, para que as sementes se reproduzam e haja pão para quem tem fome. 11 Assim é a minha palavra; ela sai da minha boca e dá sempre fruto; realizará sempre o que pretendo e prosperará por toda a parte para onde a envie. 12 Com alegria sairão e em paz serão guiados. As montanhas e as colinas, as árvores dos campos, todo o mundo à vossa volta se alegrará e estará em festa. 13 Onde antes havia espinhos crescerão ciprestes; em lugar de sarças ver-se-ão murtas a desenvolver-se por toda a parte. Este milagre tornará grandioso o nome do Senhor e será um sinal para sempre.

1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.*55.2 spend: Heb. weigh 3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. 4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. 5 Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.*55.7 the unrighteous…: Heb. the man of iniquity*55.7 abundantly…: Heb. multiply to pardon

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. 12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
