1 O Senhor disse a Moisés: 2 "Dá instruções ao povo para que te traga azeite puro para ser usado nas lâmpadas do tabernáculo, para que estejam ardendo continuamente. 3 Aarão colocará esta chama eterna no lado de fora do véu que esconde a arca do testemunho, na tenda do encontro, e ocupar-se-ão dela de forma a que brilhe toda a noite diante do Senhor, sem nunca se apagar. Isto é uma lei que nunca será alterada em todas as gerações. 4 Será uma chama que arderá eternamente perante o Senhor, por todas as gerações.

5,6 Em cada dia de sábado o sumo sacerdote colocará doze pães, em duas fileiras, sobre a mesa de ouro puro que está na presença do Senhor. Estes pães serão cozidos com 4,4 litros de farinha fina cada um. 7 Depois será derramado incenso puro sobre cada fileira de pão. Isto será uma oferta queimada, memorial feito no fogo ao Senhor. 8 A cada sábado os pães devem ser colocados diante do Senhor, por aliança eterna feita com o povo de Israel. 9 O pão será comido por Aarão e pelos seus filhos num lugar especialmente designado para isso, porque se trata de ofertas feitas pelo fogo ao Senhor, constituindo um estatuto permanente, e é algo de santíssimo."

10 Certo dia, no acampamento, um rapaz filho de mãe israelita e pai egípcio meteu-se numa briga com um homem de Israel. 11 Enquanto se batiam, o filho da israelita blasfemou do nome de Deus e foi trazido a julgamento perante Moisés. O nome da sua mãe era Selomite, filha de Dibri, da tribo de Dan. 12 E ficou detido até que o Senhor indicasse o que deveria ser feito.

13 Então o Senhor disse a Moisés: 14 "Leva-o para fora do acampamento e os que o ouviram que lhe ponham as mãos na cabeça; depois será apedrejado por todo o povo. 15 Diz ainda ao povo de Israel que se alguém dirigir ofensas contra o seu Deus, terá de levar o castigo da sua culpa. 16 Toda a congregação do povo o apedrejará. É uma lei a ser aplicada tanto ao estrangeiro como ao israelita que blasfemar do nome do Senhor; deverá morrer.

17 Da mesma forma, todos os assassinos serão executados. 18 Alguém que matar um animal, que não seja seu, terá de restituir com outro vivo. 19 Quando alguém ferir o seu próximo, terá de ser ferido da mesma forma que o fez: 20 fratura por fratura, olho por olho, dente por dente. O que alguém fizer a outro assim lhe será feito. 21 Repito: quem matar um animal deverá restituí-lo por outro e quem matar um ser humano morrerá. 22 A mesma lei aplica-se tanto ao estrangeiro como ao que nasceu na terra. Porque eu sou o Senhor, o vosso Deus."

23 E foi assim que levaram o rapaz para fora do acampamento e o apedrejaram, tal como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés.

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually.*24.2 to cause: Heb. to cause to ascend 3 Without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute for ever in your generations. 4 He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.

5 And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. 6 And thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before the LORD. 7 And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 8 Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, being taken from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant. 9 And it shall be Aaron’s and his sons’; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute.

10 And the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel: and this son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp; 11 And the Israelitish woman’s son blasphemed the name of the LORD, and cursed. And they brought him unto Moses: (and his mother’s name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan:) 12 And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them.*24.12 that…: Heb. to expound unto them according to the mouth of the LORD 13 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 14 Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him. 15 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin. 16 And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death.

17 And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death.*24.17 killeth…: Heb. smiteth the life of a man 18 And he that killeth a beast shall make it good; beast for beast.*24.18 beast for…: Heb. life for life 19 And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him; 20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. 21 And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death. 22 Ye shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am the LORD your God.

23 And Moses spake to the children of Israel, that they should bring forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stone him with stones. And the children of Israel did as the LORD commanded Moses.
