Primeiro Livro

(Salmos 1–41)

1 Feliz é aquele

que não segue o conselho dos ímpios,

que não vai pelo caminho dos pecadores,

nem se senta na companhia dos escarnecedores.

2 Antes tem prazer em fazer o que o Senhor ensina,

meditando dia e noite na sua Lei.

3 É como a árvore plantada junto a cursos de água,

que dá fruto na época própria,

e cujas folhas não murcham.

Tudo o que ele fizer prospera.

4 Mas não são assim os ímpios!

São antes como a palha

que o vento leva.

5 Por isso, não resistirão, quando vier o julgamento de Deus,

não poderão permanecer no ajuntamento dos justos.

6 Pois o Senhor conhece o caminho dos justos,

mas o caminho dos ímpios conduz à perdição.

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.*1.1 ungodly: or, wicked

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.*1.3 wither: Heb. fade

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
