1 Os céus expressam a glória de Deus

e o firmamento demonstra a obra das suas mãos.

2 Cada dia transmite mensagem ao dia seguinte

e cada noite compartilha conhecimento a outra noite.

3 Não pronunciam discursos, nem palavras,

nem fazem ouvir a sua voz.

4 Contudo a sua mensagem vai por toda a Terra, até às suas extremidades;

o Sol mora nos céus, que Deus fez como uma tenda para ele.

5 Atravessa o firmamento, levantando-se,

radiante como um noivo para o casamento,

jubiloso como um atleta, preparando-se para a competição.

6 Atravessa o céu de ponta a ponta

e nada se pode furtar ao seu calor.

7 A Lei do Senhor é perfeita e consola a alma.

Os mandamentos do Senhor merecem toda a confiança

e dão sabedoria às pessoas simples.

8 Os regulamentos do Senhor são justos

e alegram o coração;

o mandamento do Senhor é límpido

e esclarece a mente.

9 O temor ao Senhor conduz a uma vida reta

e permanece para sempre;

o Senhor julga sempre de forma justa e perfeita.

10 As suas leis são mais desejáveis do que o ouro

e mais agradáveis do que o mel gotejando dum favo.

11 Pois previnem os teus servos contra o mal;

são bem recompensados aqueles que as guardam.

12 Ninguém sabe ajuizar os seus próprios erros;

limpa-me das falhas de que eu próprio não me dou conta.

13 Livra-me de cometer erros intencionalmente;

que eu saiba parar de praticá-los.

Só assim ficarei sem culpa

e limpo de uma grande falta.

14 Que as minhas palavras te sejam agradáveis,

assim como os pensamentos do meu coração,

Senhor, minha rocha e meu libertador!

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.*19.7 law: or, doctrine*19.7 converting: or, restoring

8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
