1 Grande é o Senhor!

Ele é digno do nosso louvor!

Deus está na sua cidade, no seu santo monte.

2 É um lugar muito belo!

Vejam o monte Sião erguendo-se a norte da cidade!

É a alegria de toda a Terra!

É a morada do grande Rei!

3 Deus mesmo, na sua fortaleza sublime,

é conhecido como o seu refúgio bem seguro.

4 Os reis da Terra chegaram juntos para avançarem contra a cidade.

5 Ficaram maravilhados com o que viram

e voltaram para as suas terras, cheios de espanto.

6 Ficaram mesmo cheios de apreensão e medo,

tal como uma mulher que está prestes a dar à luz.

7 Deus pareceu-lhes como uma rajada de vento oriental

que destrói os grandes navios de Társis.

8 Já tínhamos ouvido falar na excelência dessa cidade,

a cidade do nosso Deus, o Senhor dos exércitos,

mas agora vemos por nós mesmos!

Deus firmou Jerusalém para sempre. (Pausa)

9 Deus, aqui no teu templo meditamos

sobre a tua bondade e o teu amor.

10 O teu nome é conhecido em toda a Terra.

Por isso, também és louvado por toda a parte,

porque a tua mão exerce a justiça plenamente,

sobre o mundo inteiro.

11 Que o monte Sião se alegre e também o povo de Judá,

por causa da justiça com que Deus vos trata!

12 Vão, observem bem Sião!

Andem à sua volta e contem todas as suas torres.

13 Vejam bem as muralhas, visitem as suas fortalezas,

para que possam contar tudo à geração vindoura.

14 Porque este Deus é o nosso Deus para sempre.

Ele será o nosso guia até morrermos.
