1 Senhor, ouve as palavras da minha oração.

2 Escuta a minha súplica, meu Rei e meu Deus,

pois é só a ti que me dirijo.

3 De manhã ouvirás a voz da minha oração, Senhor;

cada manhã me apresento na tua presença

e espero a tua resposta.

4 Porque eu sei, ó Deus, que não podes tolerar a maldade,

nem o pecado pode existir diante de ti.

5 Os pecadores orgulhosos

não poderão resistir ao teu olhar penetrante,

pois aborreces todos os que praticam obras más.

6 Destruirás os que dizem mentiras;

detestas os que fazem derramar sangue inocente

e os que enganam o seu semelhante.

7 Quanto a mim, poderei entrar na tua casa,

devido ao teu grande amor e ao teu perdão.

Inclinar-me-ei diante de ti com profundo respeito.

8 Senhor, guia-me na tua justiça,

por causa dos meus inimigos.

Indica-me com clareza o caminho que devo seguir.

9 Na sua boca não se encontra uma só palavra verdadeira;

o seu íntimo está cheio de maldade.

A sua garganta é um sepulcro aberto,

a sua língua lisonja.

10 Declara-os culpados, ó Deus.

Que os seus projetos sejam as armadilhas

onde eles mesmos são apanhados!

Que sejam expulsos para longe de ti,

em virtude da multidão das suas transgressões,

pois é contra ti que se revoltam!

11 Mas que se alegrem todos os que se refugiam em ti!

Que cantem de alegria, para sempre,

porque tu os defendes!

Que se sintam felizes os que amam o teu nome!

12 Pois tu, Senhor, abençoarás aquele que é justo;

tu o proteges com o escudo do teu amor.

1 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
