1 Ouve-me quando eu te chamar,

ó Deus, que defendes o meu direito.

Sempre cuidas de mim, quando estou em aflição.

Por isso, tem piedade de mim agora,

e ouve a minha oração.

2 Homens, até quando cobrirão de vergonha a minha glória?

Até quando continuarão a deixar-se iludir

por aquilo que é vazio de sentido

e correrão atrás do que é falsidade? (Pausa)

3 O Senhor já separou para si os redimidos;

ele responderá quando eu o chamar.

4 Não pequem, deixando que a ira vos domine.

Meditem seriamente e em silêncio,

na intimidade da vossa cama. (Pausa)

5 Ofereçam a Deus sacrifícios justos

e confiem no Senhor.

6 Há muitos que perguntam:

Quem nos dará a felicidade?

Mas tu, Senhor, responde-lhes,

fazendo brilhar sobre nós a luz do teu rosto.

7 Sim, a alegria que puseste no meu coração

é muito maior do que a alegria

dos que têm trigo e vinho em abundância,

quando se deleitam diante de abundantes colheitas.

8 Eu me deitarei em paz e dormirei,

porque só tu, Senhor, me fazes viver em segurança.

2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
