1 Senhor, são muitos os que estão contra mim!

São muitos os que procuram fazer-me mal!

3 Mas tu, Senhor, és o meu escudo protetor,

a minha glória, a minha única esperança.

Só tu podes erguer a minha cabeça.

4 Chamei o Senhor e ele ouviu-me da sua santa habitação. (Pausa)

5 Então deitei-me, dormi em paz e acordei em segurança,

porque o Senhor estava a vigiar sobre mim.

6 Ainda que dez mil adversários se levantem de todos os lados,

e me cerquem, não terei medo.

7 "Levanta-te, Senhor!

Salva-me, meu Deus!"

Pois tu feres todos os meus inimigos

e aos maus partes os dentes.

8 A salvação vem de ti, Senhor;
