Salmo de Asafe.

1 Deus levantou-se na assembleia celeste.

Ele julga os juízes:

2 "Até quando continuarão a julgar sem justiça

e a considerar as pessoas segundo as aparências? (Pausa)

3 Saiam em defesa dos órfãos e dos pobres;

em favor dos aflitos e necessitados.

4 Livrem os miseráveis e os infelizes

das mãos dos homens perversos que os oprimem.

5 Eles não sabem nada da justiça divina;

nada percebem e andam como cegos.

Os fundamentos da sociedade estão abalados.

6 Eu tenho-vos dito que vocês são deuses,

que são filhos do Deus altíssimo.

7 Mas perante a morte vocês são simples humanos;

hão de morrer um dia,

como os grandes da sociedade."

8 Levanta-te, ó Deus, e julga a Terra,

pois todos os povos te pertencem!

6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
