1 Veisuunjohtajalle; kielisoittimilla; matalassa äänialassa; Daavidin virsi. (H6:2) Herra, älä rankaise minua vihassasi, älä kiivastuksessasi minua kurita.

2 (H6:3) Herra, armahda minua, sillä minä olen näännyksissä; paranna minut, Herra, sillä minun luuni ovat peljästyneet,

3 (H6:4) ja minun sieluni on kovin peljästynyt. Voi, Herra, kuinka kauan?

4 (H6:5) Käänny, Herra, vapahda minun sieluni, pelasta minut armosi tähden.

5 (H6:6) Sillä kuolemassa ei sinua muisteta; kuka ylistää sinua tuonelassa?

6 (H6:7) Minä olen uupunut huokaamisesta; joka yö minä itken vuoteeni vesille ja kastelen leposijani kyyneleilläni.

7 (H6:8) Minun silmäni ovat huienneet surusta, vanhenneet kaikkien vastustajaini tähden.

8 (H6:9) Väistykää minusta, kaikki väärintekijät, sillä Herra kuulee minun itkuni äänen.

9 (H6:10) Herra kuulee minun anomiseni, Herra ottaa minun rukoukseni vastaan.

10 (H6:11) Kaikki minun viholliseni joutuvat häpeään ja suuren pelon valtaan; äkisti he joutuvat häpeään, kääntyvät pois.

1 O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

3 My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?

4 Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.

5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

7 Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.

8 Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.

9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
