1 And it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors,and the doorkeepers and the singers and the Levites had been appointed,2 that I gave Hanani my brother, and Hananiah captain of the castle, charge over Jerusalem, for, he, was a truly faithful man, and revered God above many.3 And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until, hot, be the sun, and, while they are standing by, let them close the doors, and make them fast,setting watches, of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one over against his own house.4 Now, the city, was broad on both hands, and large, but, the people, were few in the midst thereof,and the houses had not been built.5 So then my God put it into my heart, and I gathered together the nobles and the deputies and the people, to register their genealogy,then found I a register roll, of them who came up at the first, and found written therein:6 These, are the sons of the province, who came up from among the Captives of the Exile, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did exile,but they came back to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his own city;7 who came in with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah,the number of the men of the people of Israel.8 The sons of Parosh, two thousand, one hundred, and seventy-two;9 The seven hundred, and twenty-one;38 The sons of Senaah, three thousand, nine hundred, and thirty;39 The priests, The sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Joshua, nine hundred, and seventy-three;40 The sons of Immer, a thousand, and fifty-two;41 The sons of Pashhur, a thousand, two hundred, and forty-seven;42 The sons of Harim, a thousand, and seventeen;43 The Levites, The sons of Joshua, of Kadmiel, of the sons of Hodevah, seventy-four;44 The singers, The sons of Asaph, a hundred, and forty-eight;45 The doorkeepers, The sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, a hundred, and thirty-eight;46 The Nethinim, The sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth;47 the sons of Keros, the sons of Sia, the sons of Padon;48 the sons of Lebana, the sons of Hagaba, the sons of Salmai;49 the sons of Hanan, the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar;50 the sons of Reaiah, the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda;51 the sons of Gazzam, the sons of Uzza, the sons of Paseah;52 the sons of Besai, the sons of Meunim, the sons of Nephushesim;53 the sons of Bakbuk, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhur;54 the sons of Bazlith, the sons of Mehida, the sons of Harsha;55 the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Temah;56 the sons of Neziah, the sons of Hatipha.57 The Sons of the Servants of Solomon, The sons of Sotai, the sons of Sophereth, the sons of Perida;58 the sons of Jaala, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel;59 the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the sons of Amen.60 All the Nethinim, and the Sons of the Servants of Solomon, were three hundred, and ninety-two.61 And, these, are they who came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer,but they could not tell their ancestral house, nor their seed, whether, of Israel, they were:62 the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda,six hundred and forty-two,63 And, of the priests, the sons of Hobaiah, the sons of Hakkoz,the sons of Barzillai, who had taken of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite to wife, and was called after their name.64 These, sought their writing wherein they were registered, but it was not found,so they were desecrated out of the priesthood;65 and the governor told them, they must not eat of the most holy things,until there should stand up a priest, with Lights and Perfections.66 All the gathered host together, was forty-two thousand, three hundred, and sixty;67 besides, their men-servants and maid-servants, were these, seven thousand, three hundred, and thirty-seven,and, to them, pertained, singing-men and singing-women, two hundred, and forty-five:68 their horses, were seven hundred, and thirty-six,their mules, two hundred, and forty-five;69 camels, four hundred, and thirty-five,asses, six thousand, seven hundred, and twenty.70 And, a portion of the ancestral chiefs, gave unto the work,the governor, gave unto the treasury, of gold, a thousand darics, tossing bowls, fifty, tunics for priests, five hundred, and thirty;71 and, some of the ancestral chiefs, gave unto the treasury of the work, of gold, twenty thousand darics,and, of silver, two thousand and two hundred manehs;72 and, that which the rest of the people gave, was, of gold, twenty thousand darics, and, of silver, two thousand manehs,and, tunics for priests, sixty-seven.73 So the priests and the Levites and the door-keepers and the singers and some of the people, and the Nethinim and all Israel, took up their abode in their cities. And, when the seventh month arrived, the sons of Israel were in their cities.

1 Sucedeu mais que, depois que o muro fora edificado, eu levantei as portas; e foram estabelecidos os porteiros, e os cantores, e os levitas. 2 Eu nomeei a Hanani, meu irmão, e a Hananias, maioral da fortaleza, sobre Jerusalém, porque era homem fiel e temente a Deus, mais do que muitos; 3 e disse-lhes: Não se abram as portas de Jerusalém até que o sol aqueça; e, enquanto assistirem ali, fechem as portas, e, vós, trancai-as; e ponham-se guardas dos moradores de Jerusalém, cada um na sua guarda e cada um diante da sua casa. 4 E era a cidade larga de espaço e grande, porém pouco povo havia dentro dela; e ainda as casas não estavam edificadas.

5 Então, o meu Deus me pôs no coração que ajuntasse os nobres, e os magistrados, e o povo, para registrar as genealogias. E achei o livro da genealogia dos que subiram primeiro e assim achei escrito nele: 6 Estes são os filhos da província, que subiram do cativeiro, os transportados, que transportara Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia; e voltaram para Jerusalém e para Judá, cada um para a sua cidade; 7 os quais vieram com Zorobabel, Jesua, Neemias, Azarias, Raamias, Naamani, Mardoqueu, Bilsã, Misperete, Bigvai, Neum e Baaná; este é o número dos homens do povo de Israel: 8 foram os filhos de Parós, dois mil cento e setenta e dois. 9 Os filhos de Sefatias, trezentos e setenta e dois. 10 Os filhos de Ará, seiscentos e cinquenta e dois. 11 Os filhos de Paate-Moabe, dos filhos de Jesua e de Joabe, dois mil oitocentos e dezoito. 12 Os filhos de Elão, mil duzentos e cinquenta e quatro. 13 Os filhos de Zatu, oitocentos e quarenta e cinco. 14 Os filhos de Zacai, setecentos e sessenta. 15 Os filhos de Binui, seiscentos e quarenta e oito. 16 Os filhos de Bebai, seiscentos e vinte e oito. 17 Os filhos de Azgade, dois mil trezentos e vinte e dois. 18 Os filhos de Adonicão, seiscentos e sessenta e sete. 19 Os filhos de Bigvai, dois mil e sessenta e sete. 20 Os filhos de Adim, seiscentos e cinquenta e cinco. 21 Os filhos de Ater, de Ezequias, noventa e oito. 22 Os filhos de Hasum, trezentos e vinte e oito. 23 Os filhos de Besai, trezentos e vinte e quatro. 24 Os filhos de Harife, cento e doze. 25 Os filhos de Gibeão, noventa e cinco. 26 Os homens de Belém e de Netofa, cento e oitenta e oito. 27 Os homens de Anatote, cento e vinte e oito. 28 Os homens de Bete-Azmavete, quarenta e dois. 29 Os homens de Quiriate-Jearim, Cefira e Beerote, setecentos e quarenta e três. 30 Os homens de Ramá e Geba, seiscentos e vinte e um. 31 Os homens de Micmás, cento e vinte e dois. 32 Os homens de Betel e Ai, cento e vinte e três. 33 Os homens doutra Nebo, cinquenta e dois. 34 Os filhos do outro Elão, mil duzentos e cinquenta e quatro. 35 Os filhos de Harim, trezentos e vinte. 36 Os filhos de Jericó, trezentos e quarenta e cinco. 37 Os filhos de Lode, Hadide e Ono, setecentos e vinte e um. 38 Os filhos de Senaá, três mil novecentos e trinta.

39 Os sacerdotes: os filhos de Jedaías, da casa de Jesua, novecentos e setenta e três. 40 Os filhos de Imer, mil e cinquenta e dois. 41 Os filhos de Pasur, mil duzentos e quarenta e sete. 42 Os filhos de Harim, mil e dezessete.

43 Os levitas: os filhos de Jesua, de Cadmiel, dos filhos de Hodeva, setenta e quatro. 44 Os cantores: os filhos de Asafe, cento e quarenta e oito. 45 Os porteiros: os filhos de Salum, os filhos de Ater, os filhos de Talmom, os filhos de Acube, os filhos de Hatita, os filhos de Sobai, cento e trinta e oito.

46 Os netineus: os filhos de Zia, os filhos de Hasufa, os filhos de Tabaote, 47 os filhos de Queros, os filhos de Sia, os filhos de Padom, 48 os filhos de Lebana, os filhos de Hagaba, os filhos de Salmai, 49 os filhos de Hanã, os filhos de Gidel, os filhos de Gaar, 50 os filhos de Reaías, os filhos de Rezim, os filhos de Necoda, 51 os filhos de Gazão, os filhos de Uzá, os filhos de Paseia, 52 os filhos de Besai, os filhos de Meunim, os filhos de Nefusesim, 53 os filhos de Baquebuque, os filhos de Hacufa, os filhos de Harur, 54 os filhos de Bazlite, os filhos de Meida, os filhos de Harsa, 55 os filhos de Barcos, os filhos de Sísera, os filhos de Tama, 56 os filhos de Nesias, os filhos de Hatifa.

57 Os filhos dos servos de Salomão: os filhos de Sotai, os filhos de Soferete, os filhos de Perida, 58 os filhos de Jaala, os filhos de Darcom, os filhos de Gidel, 59 os filhos de Sefatias, os filhos de Hatil, os filhos de Poquerete-Hazebaim, os filhos de Amom. 60 Todos os netineus e os filhos dos servos de Salomão, trezentos e noventa e dois.

61 Também estes subiram de Tel-Melá, Tel-Harsa, Querube, Adom e Imer, porém não puderam mostrar a casa de seus pais e a sua linhagem, se eram de Israel: 62 os filhos de Delaías, os filhos de Tobias, os filhos de Necoda, seiscentos e quarenta e dois. 63 E dos sacerdotes: os filhos de Habaías, os filhos de Coz, os filhos de Barzilai, que tomara uma mulher das filhas de Barzilai, o gileadita, e se chamou do nome delas. 64 Estes buscaram o seu registro, querendo contar a sua geração, porém não se achou; pelo que, como imundos, foram excluídos do sacerdócio. 65 E o tirsata lhes disse que não comessem das coisas sagradas, até que se aprestasse um sacerdote com Urim e Tumim.

66 Toda essa congregação junta foi de quarenta e dois mil trezentos e sessenta, 67 afora os seus servos e as suas servas, que foram sete mil trezentos e trinta e sete; e tinham duzentos e quarenta e cinco cantores e cantoras. 68 Os seus cavalos, setecentos e trinta e seis; os seus mulos, duzentos e quarenta e cinco. 69 Camelos, quatrocentos e trinta e cinco; jumentos, seis mil setecentos e vinte.

70 E uma parte dos cabeças dos pais deram para a obra; o tirsata deu para o tesouro, em ouro, mil daricos, cinquenta bacias e quinhentas e trinta vestes sacerdotais. 71 E alguns mais dos cabeças dos pais deram para o tesouro da obra, em ouro, vinte mil daricos; e, em prata, dois mil e duzentos arráteis. 72 E o que deu o resto do povo foi, em ouro, vinte mil daricos; e, em prata, dois mil arráteis; e sessenta e sete vestes sacerdotais.

73 E habitaram os sacerdotes, e os levitas, e os porteiros, e os cantores, e alguns do povo, e os netineus, e todo o Israel nas suas cidades.
