1 A Song. A Psalm of David.2 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody! Awake, my soul!3 Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn!4 I will give thanks to thee, O LORD, among the peoples, I will sing praises to thee among the nations.5 For thy steadfast love is great above the heavens, thy faithfulness reaches to the clouds.6 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let thy glory be over all the earth!7 That thy beloved may be delivered, give help by thy right hand, and answer me!8 God has promised in his sanctuary: "With exultation I will divide up Shechem, and portion out the Vale of Succoth.9 Gilead is mine; Manas'seh is mine; E'phraim is my helmet; Judah my scepter.10 Moab is my washbasin; upon Edom I cast my shoe; over Philistia I shout in triumph."11 Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?12 Hast thou not rejected us, O God? Thou dost not go forth, O God, with our armies.13 O grant us help against the foe, for vain is the help of man! [ (Psalms 108:14) With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes. ]

1 Preparado está o meu coração, ó Deus; cantarei e darei louvores até com a minha glória.2 Despertai, saltério e harpa; eu mesmo despertarei ao romper da alva.3 Louvar-te-ei entre os povos, Senhor, e a ti cantarei louvores entre as nações.4 Porque a tua benignidade se estende até aos céus, e a tua verdade chega até às mais altas nuvens.5 Exalta-te sobre os céus, ó Deus, e a tua glória sobre toda a terra.6 Para que sejam livres os teus amados, salva-nos com a tua destra, e ouve-nos.7 Deus falou na sua santidade; eu me regozijarei; repartirei a Siquém, e medirei o vale de Sucote.8 Meu é Gileade, meu é Manassés; e Efraim a força da minha cabeça, Judá o meu legislador.9 Moabe a minha bacia de lavar; sobre Edom lançarei o meu sapato, sobre a Filístia jubilarei.10 Quem me levará à cidade forte? Quem me guiará até Edom?11 Porventura não serás tu, ó Deus, que nos rejeitaste? E não sairás, ó Deus, com os nossos exércitos?12 Dá-nos auxílio para sair da angústia, porque vão é o socorro da parte do homem.13 Em Deus faremos proezas, pois ele calcará aos pés os nossos inimigos.
