2 När tiden var inne sände han en tjänare till vinodlarna för att få sin del av vingårdens frukt. 3 Men de tog fast honom, slog honom och skickade i väg honom tomhänt. 4 Då sände han en annan tjänare till dem. Honom slog de i huvudet och förnedrade. 5 Sedan sände han ännu en, och honom dödade de. Han sände också många andra: några slog de, andra dödade de.

6 Nu hade han en enda kvar, sin älskade son. Till sist sände han honom till dem och tänkte: De kommer att ha respekt för min son. 7 Men vinodlarna sade till varandra: Här är arvtagaren! Kom, vi dödar honom, så blir arvet vårt. 8 Och de tog fast honom, dödade honom och kastade ut honom ur vingården.

9 Vad ska nu vingårdens herre göra? Han ska komma och döda vinodlarna och ge vingården till andra. 10 *Jes 28:16, Apg 4:11, 1 Petr 2:7. Har ni inte läst det här stället i Skriften:*12:10fPs 118:22f. Annan översättning: "… underbar är den i våra ögon".

12 Då ville de gripa honom, men vågade inte för folket. De förstod att det var med tanke på dem som han hade berättat liknelsen. Och de lämnade honom och gick sin väg.

13 *Matt 22:15f, Luk 20:20f. Sedan sände de några fariseer och herodianer till honom för att snärja honom genom något som han sade. 14 De kom till honom och sade: "Mästare, vi vet att du är ärlig och inte tar parti för någon utan behandlar alla lika. Du lär oss sanningen om Guds väg. Är det tillåtet att betala skatt till kejsaren*12:14att betala skatt till kejsarenEn tvistefråga, eftersom skatten innebar att erkänna Roms överhöghet. 15 Men Jesus förstod deras hyckleri och sade till dem: "Varför prövar ni mig? Ge mig en denar*12:15denarEtt litet romerskt silvermynt, värt en hel dagslön för den enkle arbetaren (Matt 20:2). och låt mig se på den." 16 De räckte fram en, och han frågade dem: "Vems bild och inskrift är detta?" De svarade: "Kejsarens." 17 Då sade Jesus till dem: "Ge då kejsaren det som tillhör kejsaren, och Gud det som tillhör Gud." Och de var förundrade över honom.

18 Till Jesus kom också några saddukeer*12:18saddukeerAristokratiska präster som samarbetade med romarna och vakade över ordningen i templet (Apg 4:1f)., de som påstår att det inte finns någon uppståndelse. De frågade honom: 19 "Mästare, Mose har gett oss föreskriften att om någon har en bror som dör och efterlämnar hustru men inga barn, då ska han gifta sig med änkan och skaffa barn åt sin bror.*12:19 5 Mos 25:5f.20 Nu fanns det sju bröder. Den förste tog sig en hustru, men han dog och efterlämnade inga barn. 21 Den andre gifte sig med henne, men också han dog barnlös. På samma sätt gick det med den tredje. 22 Ingen av de sju efterlämnade några barn. Sist av alla dog kvinnan. 23 Vid uppståndelsen, när de uppstår, vems hustru blir hon då? Alla sju var ju gifta med henne."

24 Jesus sade till dem: "Tar ni inte fel, just för att ni inte förstår Skrifterna och inte heller Guds makt? 25 När de döda uppstår gifter de sig inte och blir inte bortgifta, utan de är som änglarna i himlen.

26 *Apg 7:30f, Hebr 11:16. Men när det gäller de dödas uppståndelse, har ni inte läst i Moses bok vid stället om törnbusken hur Gud sade till Mose: Jag är Abrahams Gud och Isaks Gud och Jakobs Gud?*12:26 2 Mos 3:6.27 Han är inte de dödas Gud, utan de levandes. Ni misstar er grundligt."

Den stora folkmassan lyssnade gärna på Jesus, 38 *Matt 23:6f, Luk 11:43, 20:46f. och i sin undervisning sade han: "Akta er för de skriftlärda, som njuter av att gå runt i långa mantlar och bli hälsade på torgen 39 och få de främsta platserna i synagogorna och hedersplatserna vid festmåltiderna. 40 De äter änkorna ur husen och ber långa böner för syns skull. De ska få en så mycket strängare dom."

28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. 32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces, 39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts: 40 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. 42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: 44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
