1 Judas, servo de Jesus Cristo e irmão de Tiago, aos eleitos que são amados em Deus Pai, e guardados para Jesus Cristo:2 Misericórdia, paz e caridade vos sejam multiplicadas.3 Amados, enquanto eu empregava toda a diligência para vos escrever sobre a nossa comum salvação, vi-me obrigado a dirigir-vos esta carta, exortando-vos a pelejar pela fé uma vez para sempre confiada aos santos.4 Pois certos homens se introduziram furtivamente (ímpios, cuja sentença há muito tempo está lavrada), os quais transformam a graça de nosso Deus em dissolução e negam a nosso único Mestre e Senhor Jesus Cristo.5 Ora eu vos quero lembrar (se bem que sabeis tudo uma vez para sempre) que o Senhor, tendo libertado a um povo, tirando-o da terra do Egito, destruiu em seguida aqueles que não creram;6 que os anjos que não guardaram o seu principado, mas abandonaram o seu próprio domicílio, ele os tem reservado, com cadeias eternas em trevas, para o juízo do grande dia.7 Assim Sodoma, Gomorra e as cidades vizinhas, tendo-se prostituído, como aqueles de que acabo de falar, e seguindo após de outra carne, foram postas como exemplo, sofrendo a pena do fogo eterno.8 Contudo da mesma maneira também estes, sonhando, não somente contaminam o seu corpo, como também desprezam a dominação e maldizem as dignidades.9 Mas quando Miguel, o arcanjo, discutindo com o Diabo, altercava sobre o corpo de Moisés, não ousou fulminar-lhe sentença de blasfemo, mas disse: O Senhor te repreenda.10 Estes, porém, na verdade, maldizem tudo o que ignoram, e se perdem em todas aquelas coisas que compreendem naturalmente como animais sem razão.11 Ai deles! porque entraram no caminho de Caim, e por amor do lucro se atiraram ao erro de Balaão, e pereceram na revolta de Coré.12 Estes são os cachopos em vossos agapes, quando banqueteiam convosco sem medo, pastores que se apascentam a si mesmos; nuvens sem água, levadas pelos ventos; árvores do outono, sem fruto, duas vezes mortas, desarraigadas;13 ondas furiosas do mar, espumando as suas próprias torpezas; estrelas errantes, para as quais tem sido reservado o negrume das trevas para sempre.14 A estes também é que profetizou Enoque, o sétimo depois de Adão, quando disse: Eis que o Senhor veio com miríades de seus santos15 a executar juízo sobre todos e a convencer a todos os ímpios de todas as obras ímpias que impiamente cometeram, e de todas as palavras duras que pecadores ímpios pronunciaram contra ele.16 Estes são murmuradores, queixosos, andando segundo as suas cobiças; a sua boca fala de coisas soberbas, mostrando admiração a pessoas por causa de interesse.17 Vós, porém, amados, lembrai-vos das palavras que foram preditas pelos apóstolos de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,18 os quais vos diziam que nos últimos tempos viriam zombadores, andando segundo as suas ímpias cobiças.19 Estes são os homens que causam divisões, sensuais, que não têm o Espírito.20 Mas vós, amados, edificando-vos sobre a vossa santíssima fé, e orando no Espírito Santo,21 guardai-vos no amor de Deus, esperando a misericórdia de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo para a vida eterna.22 Tende misericórdia de alguns que estão na dúvida,23 e salvai-os, arrebatando-os do fogo; de outros tende misericórdia com temor, aborrecendo até a túnica manchada pela carne.24 Àquele que vos pode guardar de tropeçardes e vos apresentar diante da sua glória sem defeito em grande gozo,25 ao único Deus nosso Salvador, por Jesus Cristo nosso Senhor, seja glória, majestade, domínio e poder antes de toda a eternidade, e agora e por todos os séculos. 1 From Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and yet a brother of James, to those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father and kept safe by Jesus Christ.2 May mercy, peace, and love be yours in abundance!3 Dear friends, although I was eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I found it necessary to write to you and urge you to continue your vigorous defense of the faith that was passed down to the saints once and for all.4 For some people have slipped in among you unnoticed. They were written about long ago as being deserving of this condemnation because they are ungodly. They turn the grace of our God into uncontrollable lust and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.5 Now I want to remind you, even though you are fully aware of these things, that the Lord who once saved his people from the land of Egypt later destroyed those who did not believe.6 He has also held in eternal chains those angels who did not keep their own position but abandoned their assigned place. They are held in deepest darkness for judgment on the great day.7 Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near them, which like them committed sexual sins and engaged in homosexual activities, serve as an example of the punishment of eternal fire.8 In a similar way, these dreamers also defile their flesh, reject the Lord's authority, and slander his glorious beings.9 Even the archangel Michael, when he argued with the devil and fought over the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him but said, "May the Lord rebuke you!"10 Whatever these people do not understand, they slander. Like irrational animals, they are destroyed by the very things they know by instinct.11 How terrible it will be for them! For they followed the path of Cain, rushed headlong into Balaam's error to make a profit, and destroyed themselves in Korah's rebellion.12 These people are stains on your love feasts. They feast with you without any sense of awe. They are shepherds who care only for themselves. They are waterless clouds blown about by the winds. They are autumn trees that are fruitless, twice dead, and uprooted.13 They are wild waves of the sea, churning up the foam of their own shame. They are wandering stars for whom the deepest darkness has been reserved forever.14 Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied about these people when he said,"Look! The Lord has come with countless thousands of his holy ones.15 He will execute judgment on all people and convict everyone of all the ungodly things that they have done in such an ungodly way, including all the harsh things that these ungodly sinners have said about him."16 These people are complainers and faultfinders, following their own desires. Their mouths speak arrogant things, and they flatter people in order to take advantage of them.17 But you, dear friends, must remember the statements and predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.18 They kept telling you, "In the last times mockers will appear, following their own ungodly desires."19 These are the people who cause divisions. They are worldly, devoid of the Spirit.20 But you, dear friends, must continue to build yourselves up on your most holy faith. Pray in the Holy Spirit,21 and remain in God's love as you look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life.22 Show mercy to those who have doubts.23 Save others by snatching them from the fire. To others, show mercy, but with fear, hating even the clothes stained by their sinful lives.24 Now to the one who is able to keep you from falling and to make you stand faultless in his glorious presence with rejoicing,25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority before all time and for all eternity!
