Davi deseja edificar um templo ao Senhor

1 *1Cr 17.1-27Estando já o rei de assento na sua casa, e tendo-lhe Jeová dado descanso de todos os seus inimigos ao redor, 2 disse ele ao profeta *2Sm 7.17;12.1;1Rs 1.22;1Cr 29.29;2Cr 9.29Natã: Eis que eu estou morando numa *2Sm 5.11casa de cedro, e *Êx 26.1a arca de Deus, dentro de cortinas. 3 Respondeu Natã ao rei: *1Rs 8.17-18Vai e faze tudo o que tens no teu coração, porque Jeová é contigo. 4 Mas, naquela mesma noite, veio a palavra de Jeová a Natã, dizendo: 5 Vai dizer ao meu servo Davi: Assim diz Jeová: *1Rs 5.3;8.19Edificar-me-ás tu uma casa em que eu habite? 6 Desde o dia em que eu fiz subir os filhos de Israel do Egito até hoje, *Js 18.1;1Rs 8.16não tenho habitado em casa nenhuma, mas tenho peregrinado *Êx 40.18,34em tenda e em tabernáculo. 7 *Lv 26.11-12Em todos os lugares em que tenho peregrinado com todos os filhos de Israel, falei jamais palavra a alguma das suas tribos, *2Sm 5.2a que mandei que apascentasse o meu povo de Israel, dizendo: Por que me não tendes edificado uma casa de cedro? 8 Agora, assim dirás ao meu servo Davi: Assim diz Jeová dos Exércitos: *1Sm 16.11-12;Sl 78.70-71Eu te tirei da malhada, de detrás das ovelhas, *2Sm 6.21para que fosses príncipe sobre o meu povo, sobre Israel; 9 por onde quer que andaste, *2Sm 5.10tenho estado contigo *Sl 18.37-42para exterminar os teus inimigos de diante de ti; e te farei um grande nome como o dos grandes que há na terra. 10 Designarei um lugar para o meu povo, para Israel, e *Êx 15.17;Is 5.2,7o plantarei, e habitará no seu lugar; não mais será perturbado, *Sl 89.22-23;Is 60.18nem os filhos da iniquidade tornarão a afligi-lo como dantes 11 e como *Jz 2.14-16;1Sm 12.9-11desde o dia em que mandei que houvesse juízes sobre o meu povo de Israel. *2Sm 7.1Dar-te-ei descanso de todos os teus inimigos. Também Jeová te diz que *2Sm 7.27;1Sm 25.28ele mesmo te fará uma casa. 12 *1Rs 2.1Completos que forem os teus dias, e vieres a dormir com teus pais, suscitarei depois de ti a tua semente, que procederá das tuas entranhas, e estabelecerei o seu reino. 13 *1Rs 6.12;8.19Ele edificará uma casa para o meu nome, *Is 9.7;49.8e eu estabelecerei para sempre o trono do seu reino. 14 *Hb 1.5;Sl 89.26-27Eu lhe serei pai, e ele me será filho. *1Rs 11.34;Sl 89.30-33Se ele cometer iniquidade, castigá-lo-ei com varas de homens, e com açoites de filhos de homens; 15 porém a minha misericórdia não se retirará dele, *1Sm 15.23;16.14como a retirei de Saul, a quem tirei de diante de ti. 16 Será estável para sempre diante de mim a *2Sm 7.13;Sl 89.36-37tua casa e o teu reino; será estabelecido para sempre o teu trono. 17 Segundo todas estas palavras e segundo toda esta visão, assim falou Natã a Davi.

18 Entrou o rei Davi, e sentou-se diante de Jeová, e disse: *Êx 3.11;1Sm 18.18Quem sou eu, Senhor Jeová, e que casa é a minha, para que me tenhas trazido até aqui? 19 Isso ainda foi pouco aos teus olhos, Senhor Jeová; *2Sm 7.11-16;1Cr 17.17mas falaste a respeito da casa do teu servo para tempos distantes. *Is 55.8-9É esta a lei de homens, Senhor Jeová? 20 Que mais te poderá dizer Davi? Pois *1Sm 16.7;Jo 21.17tu, Senhor Jeová, conheces o teu servo. 21 *1Cr 17.19Por causa da tua palavra e segundo o teu coração, fizeste toda essa grandeza, dando-a a conhecer ao teu servo. 22 Pelo que *Dt 3.24;Sl 48.1;86.10tu és grande, Deus Jeová, *Êx 15.11;1Sm 2.2pois ninguém há semelhante a ti, e não há outro Deus fora de ti, *Êx 10.2;Sl 44.1segundo tudo o que temos ouvido com os nossos ouvidos. 23 *Dt 4.32-38Quem há como o teu povo, como Israel, gente única na terra, a quem tu, ó Deus, foste resgatar para te ser povo, e fazer-te nome, e *Dt 10.21obrar a seu favor grandes coisas e coisas terríveis para a tua terra, *Dt 15.15diante do teu povo, *Dt 9.26que remiste para ti do Egito dentre as nações e os seus deuses. 24 *Dt 32.6Estabeleceste o teu povo de Israel para ser o teu povo para sempre, e *Gn 17.7-8;Êx 6.7tu, Jeová, te fizeste o seu Deus. 25 Agora, Deus Jeová, quanto à palavra que falaste acerca do teu servo e acerca da sua casa, confirma-a para sempre e faze como tens falado. 26 *Sl 72.18-19Seja o teu nome engrandecido para sempre, e se diga: Jeová dos Exércitos é Deus sobre Israel. A casa do teu servo Davi será estabelecida diante de ti. 27 Pois tu, Jeová dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel, deste uma revelação ao teu servo, dizendo: *2Sm 7.13Edificar-te-ei uma casa. Por isso, teu servo se animou para te fazer esta oração. 28 Agora, Senhor Jeová, tu és Deus, *Êx 34.6;Jo 17.17e as tuas palavras são verdade, e tens prometido ao teu servo esse bem. 29 Sejas, agora, servido de abençoar a casa do teu servo, para que subsista para sempre diante de ti. Pois tu, Senhor Jeová, o falaste; e, *Nm 6.24-26com a tua bênção, seja para sempre abençoada a casa do teu servo.

1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies; 2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains. 3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.

4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying, 5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?*7.5 my servant…: Heb. to my servant, to David 6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle. 7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?*7.7 any of…: any of the judges 8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:*7.8 from following: Heb. from after 9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.*7.9 out of…: Heb. from thy face 10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime, 11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. 16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. 17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

18 Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto? 19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant’s house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?*7.19 manner: Heb. law 20 And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant. 21 For thy word’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. 22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 23 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods? 24 For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God. 25 And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said. 26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee. 27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.*7.27 revealed: Heb. opened the ear 28 And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: 29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.*7.29 let it…: Heb. be thou pleased and bless
