Isaías 29

Profecia contra Judá infiel; promessa de livramento

1 Ah! Ariel, Ariel, cidade onde Davi *2Sm 5.9acampou! Acrescentai ano a ano; *Is 28.9,13;1.14;5.12;22.12-13completem as festas o seu ciclo; 2 então, porei Ariel em aperto, e haverá pranto *Is 3.26;Lm 2.5e lamentação. Ela será para mim como um ariel. 3 *Lc 19.43-44Acamparei num círculo ao redor de ti, te cercarei de trincheiras e contra ti levantarei obras de sítio. 4 *Is 8.19Serás abatida e desde a terra falarás, e desde o pó sairá fraca a tua palavra; a tua voz, vinda desde a terra, será como a de um que tem *Lv 20.6;Dt 18.10-11;1Sm 28.8,15;2Cr 33.6espírito familiar, e a tua fala resmungará desde o pó.

5 Mas a multidão dos teus inimigos será como o *Is 17.13;41.15-16pó miúdo, e a multidão dos *Is 29.20;13.11;25.3-5;49.25terríveis, como a palha volante; isso acontecerá num momento, *Is 17.14;30.13;47.11;1Ts 5.3repentinamente. 6 Da parte de Jeová dos Exércitos será ela *Is 10.3;26.14,21;28.2visitada com *1Sm 2.10;Mt 24.7;Mc 13.8;Lc 21.11;Ap 11.13,19;16.18trovão, com terremoto e grande estrondo, com redemoinho e tempestade e com chama de fogo devorante. 7 Será como sonho, *Is 17.14;Jó 20.8;Sl 73.20visão noturna, a *Mq 4.11-12;Zc 12.9multidão de todas as nações que pelejarem contra Ariel, a multidão de todos os que pelejarem contra ela e contra todas as suas trincheiras, e dos que a puserem em aperto. 8 Assim como o faminto sonha que come, mas, despertando, tem vazia a sua alma; assim como o sedento sonha que bebe, mas, despertando, está fatigado e a sua alma tem sede *Is 54.17assim será a multidão de todas as nações que pelejarem contra o monte de Sião.

9 *Is 29.1Demorai-vos e ficai pasmados; cegai-vos e ficai cegos; *Is 51.17,21-22;63.6bêbados estão, porém não de vinho; cambaleiam, porém não de bebida forte. 10 Pois Jeová tem derramado sobre vós o espírito de profundo *Is 6.9-10;Sl 69.23;Mq 3.6;Rm 11.8sono, tem *Is 44.18;2Ts 2.9-12fechado os vossos olhos, que são os profetas, e tem coberto de véu as vossas cabeças, que são os videntes. 11 Toda a *Is 29.7visão já se vos tornou como as palavras de um *Is 8.16;Dn 12.4,9;Mt 13.11livro selado, que se dá ao que sabe ler, dizendo: Lê isto, peço-te; e ele responde: Não posso, porque está selado; 12 e dá-se o livro ao que não sabe ler, dizendo: Lê isto, peço-te; e ele responde: Não sei ler.

13 Disse o Senhor: Como *Ez 33.31;Mt 15.8-9;Mc 7.6-7este povo se chega para mim e com a sua boca e com os seus lábios me honra, mas tem apartado para longe de mim o seu coração, e como o temor que de mim tem é mandamento de homens que lhes tem sido ensinado, 14 portanto eis que continuarei a fazer no meio deste povo uma obra maravilhosa, sim, uma *Is 6.9-10;28.21;65.7;Hc 1.5obra maravilhosa e um portento; *Is 44.25;Jr 8.9;49.7;1Co 1.19a sabedoria dos seus sábios perecerá, e o entendimento dos seus prudentes se esconderá.

15 Ai dos que *Is 29.15;30.1;Sl 10.11,13escondem profundamente de Jeová o seu conselho, dos que fazem *Is 57.12;59.6;Jó 22.13;Ez 8.12;Sf 1.12as suas obras às escuras e dizem: *Is 47.10;Sl 94.7;Ml 2.17Quem nos vê? Quem nos conhece? 16 Ah! A vossa perversidade! Acaso, o oleiro há de ser reputado como barro, de modo que *Is 45.9;64.8;Jr 18.1-6;Rm 9.19-21a obra diga de quem a fez: Ele não me fez; ou a coisa formada diga de quem a formou: Ele não tem entendimento?

17 Acaso, dentro ainda de muito pouco tempo, não se converterá o Líbano *Is 32.15;Sl 84.6;107.33,35num campo fértil, e não será tido um campo fértil como um bosque? 18 Naquele dia, os *Is 35.5;42.7,18-19;43.8;Mt 11.5;Mc 7.37surdos ouvirão *Is 29.11as palavras do livro, e *Is 32.3;Sl 119.18;Pv 20.12os olhos dos cegos verão dentre a escuridão e dentre as trevas. 19 Em Jeová alegrar-se-ão cada vez mais *Is 11.4;61.1;Sl 25.9;37.11;Mt 5.5;11.29os mansos, e no Santo de Israel exultarão *Is 3.14-15;11.4;14.30,32;25.4;26.6;Mt 11.5;Tg 1.9;2.5os pobres dentre os homens. 20 Pois *Is 29.5o opressor já não é mais, deixou de existir *Is 28.14o escarnecedor, e se acham exterminados *Is 59.4todos os que se dão à iniquidade, 21 os quais, por uma palavra, *Is 10.1-2;59.4,13fazem culpado um homem, *Am 5.10armam laços ao que faz repreensões na porta e, por um nada, *Is 32.7;Am 5.12derrubam o justo.

22 Portanto, acerca da casa de Jacó, assim diz Jeová, que remiu a *Is 41.8;51.2;63.16Abraão: Jacó *Is 45.17;49.23;50.7;54.4;Jr 30.5-7,10não será mais envergonhado, nem mais se empalidecerá o seu rosto. 23 Mas, quando ele e seus *Is 49.20-26;54.1-3filhos virem *Is 26.12;45.11;Ef 2.10a obra das minhas mãos no meio deles, santificarão o meu nome, sim, *Is 5.16;8.13santificarão o Santo de Jacó e temerão o Deus de Israel. 24 Também os que *Is 30.21;Hb 5.2erram de espírito *Is 41.20;60.16chegarão a ter entendimento; e os que murmuram *Is 54.13receberão instrução.

1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.*29.1 Woe…: or, O Ariel, that is, the lion of God*29.1 the city: or, of the city*29.1 kill: Heb. cut off the heads of 2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel. 3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee. 4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.*29.4 whisper: Heb. peep, or, chirp 5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly. 6 Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision. 8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.*29.9 cry ye…: or, take your pleasure, and riot 10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.*29.10 rulers: Heb. heads 11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:*29.11 book: or, letter 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: 14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.*29.14 proceed: Heb. add 15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? 16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. 19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.*29.19 increase: Heb. add 20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: 21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought. 22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale. 23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel. 24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.*29.24 come…: Heb. know understanding
