Bildade acusa a Jó de presunção e impaciência

1 Então, respondeu Bildade, suíta:

2 Até quando andareis à caça de palavras?

Entendei, e depois falaremos.

3 Por que somos *Sl 73.22reputados por animais

e feitos imundos aos vossos olhos?

4 Tu que te despedaças na tua ira,

acaso, por amor de ti, será abandonada a terra?

Ou será a penha removida do seu lugar?

Bildade descreve os perigos dos pecadores

5 Na verdade, *Jó 21.17;Pv 13.9;20.20;24.20a luz do iníquo se apagará,

e não resplandecerá a chama do seu fogo.

6 A luz *Jó 12.25se obscurecerá na sua tenda,

e a lâmpada que está por cima dele se apagará.

7 Estreitar-se-ão os passos do seu poder,

e o *Jó 15.6seu conselho o derribará.

8 Pois, pelos seus próprios pés, *Jó 22.10;Sl 9.15;35.8;Is 24.17-18é lançado na rede

e anda sobre as malhas.

9 O alçapé o apanha pelo calcanhar,

e o laço o prende.

10 A corda está-lhe escondida na terra,

e a armadilha, na vereda.

11 De todos os lados o amedrontam *Jó 15.21, ref.terrores,

e, de perto, *Jó 18.18;20.8perseguem-lhe os pés.

12 O seu vigor será *Is 8.21consumido pela fome,

e a calamidade estará pronta ao seu lado.

13 Serão devorados os membros do seu corpo;

o primogênito da morte *Zc 14.12devorará os seus membros.

será levado ao rei dos *Jó 15.21, ref.terrores.

15 Na sua tenda, habitarão os que não lhe pertencem,

16 Por baixo, *Is 5.24;Os 9.16;Am 2.9;Ml 4.1as suas raízes secarão,

e, por cima, murcharão *Jó 15.30,32os seus ramos.

17 A sua *Jó 24.20;Sl 34.16;Pv 10.7memória perecerá do país,

e o seu nome não ficará sobre a face da terra.

18 Será lançado da luz *Jó 5.14, ref.;Is 8.21;5.30;Jó 20.8para as trevas

e *Jó 27.21-23afugentado do mundo.

19 Não terá *Jó 27.14-15;Is 14.22nem filho nem neto entre o seu povo,

nem alguém que fique onde ele peregrinava.

20 Os do Ocidente pasmam *Sl 37.13;Jr 50.27;Ob 12do dia dele,

assim como se espantam os do Oriente.

21 Na verdade, tais são as *Jó 21.28moradas do ímpio,

e este é o paradeiro daquele que não conhece a Deus.

11 Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.*18.11 drive: Heb. scatter 12 His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side. 13 It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.*18.13 strength: Heb. bars 14 His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors. 15 It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation. 16 His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off. 17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street. 18 He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.*18.18 He…: Heb.
