Jó sustenta a sua integridade e sinceridade

1 De novo, prosseguiu Jó o seu *Jó 13.12;29.1discurso e disse:

2 Pela vida de Deus, *Jó 16.11, ref.;34.5que me tirou o direito,

e do Todo-Poderoso, *Jó 9.18que me amargurou a alma

3 (Pois ainda está em mim a minha vida,

e o *Jó 32.8;33.4sopro de Deus, no meu nariz.);

4 os meus lábios não falam a injustiça,

nem a minha *Jó 6.28;33.3língua profere o engano.

5 Não permita Deus que eu vos dê razão.

Até que eu morra, *Jó 6.29, ref.não apartarei de mim a minha integridade.

6 À minha justiça *Jó 2.3;13.18me apegarei e não a largarei.

Não reprova o meu coração dia algum da minha vida.

7 Seja como iníquo o meu inimigo,

e, como injusto, aquele que se levanta contra mim.

8 Pois qual é a *Jó 8.13;11.20esperança do ímpio quando Deus o corta,

quando lhe arrebata *Jó 12.10a alma?

9 Acaso, *Jó 35.12-13;Sl 18.41;Pv 1.28;Is 1.15;Jr 14.12;Mq 3.4ouvirá Deus o clamor,

quando lhe *Pv 1.27sobrevier a tribulação?

10 *Jó 22.26-27;Sl 37.4;Is 58.14Deleitar-se-á no Todo-Poderoso

e invocará a Deus em todo o tempo?

11 Ensinar-vos-ei acerca *Jó 27.13das obras de Deus,

E não ocultarei a mente do Todo-Poderoso.

12 Eis que todos vós o conheceis.

Por que, pois, vos entregais a juízos falsos?

13 Esta é, a porção do iníquo da *Jó 20.29parte de Deus,

e a herança que os *Jó 15.20opressores recebem do Todo-Poderoso.

14 Se seus filhos se multiplicarem, multiplicam-se *Jó 15.22, ref.;18.19para a espada;

a sua *Jó 20.10prole não se fartará de pão.

15 Os que ficarem deles na peste serão sepultados,

e as suas *Sl 78.64viúvas não chorarão.

16 Embora amontoe ele prata como pó

e aparelhe vestidos como barro,

17 ele pode aparelhá-los, *Jó 20.18-21mas o justo os vestirá,

e o inocente repartirá a prata.

18 Edifica a sua *Jó 8.15;18.14casa como a traça

e como a choça que o vigia faz.

19 Deita-se rico, porém não será recolhido à sepultura;

abre os seus olhos, *Jó 7.8,21;20.7e já não é.

20 *Jó 15.21, ref.Pavores o alcançam como águas,

*Jó 20.8;34.20de noite, o arrebata a tempestade.

21 *Jó 21.18O vento oriental leva-o, e ele se vai,

e varre-o *Jó 7.10, ref.do seu lugar.

22 Pois Deus atirará contra ele, *Jr 13.14;Ez 5.11;24.14e não o poupará a ele,

que quer *Jó 11.20, ref.fugir da sua mão a toda a pressa.

23 Os homens baterão palmas à sua queda

e o afugentarão *Jó 18.18;20.8com assobios.

1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,*27.1 continued: Heb. added to take up 2 As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;*27.2 vexed…: Heb. made my soul bitter 3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;*27.3 the spirit…: that is, the breath which God gave him 4 My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit. 5 God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me. 6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.*27.6 so long…: Heb. from my days

7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous. 8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul? 9 Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him? 10 Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

11 I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.*27.11 by…: or, being in the hand, etc 12 Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain? 13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. 14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. 15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep. 16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; 17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver. 18 He buildeth his house as a moth, and as a booth that the keeper maketh. 19 The rich man shall lie down, but he shall not be gathered: he openeth his eyes, and he is not. 20 Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night. 21 The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place. 22 For God shall cast upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.*27.22 he…: Heb. in fleeing he would flee 23 Men shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
