Jó 40

1 Prosseguiu Jeová na sua resposta a Jó e disse:

2 Acaso, com o Todo-Poderoso *Jó 9.3;10.2;33.13contenderá quem usa de cavilações?

Responda a isso quem *Jó 13.3;23.4;31.35argui a Deus.

3 Então, respondeu Jó a Jeová:

4 Eis que sou vil; que te hei de responder?

*Jó 21.5;29.9Ponho a minha mão sobre a boca.

5 Uma vez falei e *Jó 9.3,15não direi mais;

sim, duas vezes, porém não prosseguirei.

6 Então do redemoinho *Jó 38.1respondeu Jeová a Jó:

7 *Jó 38.3Cinge os teus lombos como homem;

eu te *Jó 38.3;42.4perguntarei, e tu me responderás.

8 Porventura, farás tu vão o meu juízo?

*Jó 10.3,7;16.11;19.6;27.2Condenar-me-ás *Jó 13.18;27.6para te justificares a ti?

9 Ou tens tu um braço como Deus?

E podes *Jó 37.5trovejar com a voz, como ele o faz?

10 Orna-te de excelência e de dignidade

e veste-te de honra e de majestade.

11 Derrama as *Is 42.25;Na 1.6,8inundações da tua ira.

Olha para todo *Is 2.12;Dn 4.37soberbo e abate-o;

12 olha para todo *1Sm 2.7;Is 13.11soberbo, e humilha-o,

*Is 63.3e calca aos pés os iníquos onde estão.

13 *Is 2.10-12Esconde-os juntamente no pó,

ata-lhes os rostos no lugar escondido.

14 Então, eu também confessarei a respeito de ti

que a tua destra te poderá salvar.

15 Eis beemote, *Jó 40.19que eu criei contigo;

ele come o feno como o boi.

16 Eis que a sua fortaleza está nos seus lombos,

e a sua força está nos músculos do seu ventre.

17 Move a sua cauda como o cedro;

os nervos da sua coxa são entretecidos.

18 Os seus ossos são como tubos de bronze,

as suas costelas são como barras de ferro.

19 Ele é *Jó 41.33o principal das obras de Deus;

aquele *Jó 40.15que o fez o proveu de espada.

20 Na verdade, os montes lhe produzem pastos,

e ali *Sl 104.26folgam todos os animais do campo.

21 Deita-se debaixo dos lotos,

no esconderijo dos canaviais e no pântano.

22 Os lotos cobrem-no com a sua sombra,

os salgueiros do ribeiro o rodeiam.

23 Se um rio trasbordar, ele não treme;

está sem cuidado ainda que o Jordão se levante até a sua boca.

24 Poderá alguém apanhá-lo, quando ele estiver de vigia,

ou pôr-lhe um anel ao nariz?

1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said, 2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. 5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

6 Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. 8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous? 9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him? 10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. 11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him. 12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. 13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret. 14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
