Eliú acusa a Jó de se opor a Deus e de entender mal os seus caminhos

1 Todavia, peço-te, Jó, que ouças o meu discurso

e que dês ouvidos a todas as minhas palavras.

2 Eis que, agora, abro a minha boca,

e, em minha boca, fala a minha língua.

3 As minhas palavras vão mostrar que é reto o meu coração!

Os meus lábios falarão *Jó 6.28;27.4;36.4com sinceridade o que sabem.

4 *Jó 10.3, ref.;32.8O Espírito de Deus me fez,

e *Jó 27.3o assopro do Todo-Poderoso me dá vida.

5 Se puderes, *Jó 33.32responde-me;

põe as tuas palavras em ordem diante de mim, apresenta-te.

6 Eis que, diante de Deus, sou o que tu és;

eu também sou formado do *Jó 4.19, ref.barro.

7 Eis que não inspiro terror que te amedronte,

nem será pesada sobre ti a minha mão.

8 Na verdade, disseste aos meus ouvidos,

e ouvi o som das tuas palavras:

9 Estou *Jó 6.10;9.21;10.7;13.18;16.17limpo, *Jó 7.21;13.23;14.17sem transgressão;

sou inocente, e *Jó 10.14não há em mim iniquidade.

10 Eis que Deus procura motivos de inimizade comigo

e *Jó 13.24me considera como o seu inimigo;

11 *Jó 13.27põe no tronco os meus pés

e observa todas as minhas veredas.

12 Eu te responderei que, nisso, não tens razão,

pois Deus é maior do que o homem.

13 Queres *Jó 40.2;Is 45.9contender com ele,

porque ele não dá conta dos seus atos.

14 Entretanto, *Jó 33.29;40.5;Sl 62.11Deus fala de um modo

e ainda de outro modo, sem que o homem lhe atenda.

15 *Jó 33.15-18;4.12-17Em sonho, em visão noturna,

quando cai sono profundo sobre os homens,

e dormem na cama,

16 então, lhes *Jó 36.10,15abre os ouvidos

e lhes sela a instrução,

17 para apartar o homem do seu mau propósito

e escondê-lo da soberba;

18 *Jó 33.22,24,28,30para guardar da cova a sua alma

e que a sua vida não pereça *Jó 15.22, ref.pela espada.

19 É castigado no seu leito *Jó 30.17com dores

e, com luta constante, nos seus ossos.

20 De modo que a sua vida *Jó 3.24;6.7;Sl 107.18abomina o pão,

e a sua alma, a comida apetecível.

21 Consome-se *Jó 16.8a sua carne, de maneira que desaparece,

e *Jó 19.20;Sl 22.17os seus ossos, que não se viam, se descobrem.

22 *Jó 33.18,28A sua alma aproxima-se da cova,

e a sua vida, dos mensageiros da morte.

Ministério dos anjos

23 Se houver com ele um anjo,

*Gn 40.8um intérprete, um entre mil,

para mostrar ao homem qual é o seu dever,

24 então, Deus se compadece dele e diz ao anjo:

Livra-o, *Jó 33.18,28;Is 38.17para que não desça à cova;

acabo de achar *Jó 36.18;Sl 49.7resgate.

25 A sua carne faz-se mais fresca do que a duma criança;

ele torna aos dias da sua mocidade.

26 Ele *Jó 22.27;34.28ora a Deus, e Deus lhe é propício,

de modo *Jó 22.26que lhe vê o rosto com júbilo

e lhe restitui a sua justiça.

27 *Jó 8.21Canta diante dos homens e diz:

e não fui punido como merecia.

28 Deus resgatou a minha alma da cova,

e a minha vida *Jó 22.28, ref.verá a luz.

duas e três vezes ao homem,

30 *Jó 33.18para reconduzir da cova a sua alma,

a fim de que seja iluminado com a luz dos viventes.

31 Atende, Jó, ouve-me;

cala-te, e eu falarei.

32 Se tens alguma coisa que dizer, responde-me;

fala, porque gostaria de te dar razão.

33 Se não, escuta-me;

cala-te, e eu te ensinarei a sabedoria.

29 Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,*33.29 oftentimes: Heb. twice and thrice 30 To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living. 31 Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak. 32 If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee. 33 If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
