Davi é constituído rei de Israel e de Judá

Jeová te disse: *2Sm 7.7;Gn 49.24Tu apascentarás o meu povo de Israel e tu serás *1Sm 25.30príncipe sobre Israel. 3 Todos os anciãos de Israel vieram ter com o rei, em Hebrom, e o rei Davi *2Sm 3.21fez com eles aliança em Hebrom, diante de Jeová. *2Sm 2.4;1Sm 16.13Ungiram a Davi rei sobre Israel. 4 Tinha Davi *Gn 41.46;Nm 4.3;Lc 3.23trinta anos quando começou a reinar e *1Rs 2.11;1Cr 26.31reinou quarenta anos. 5 Em Hebrom, *2Sm 2.11reinou sete anos e seis meses sobre Judá; e em Jerusalém reinou trinta e três anos sobre todo o Israel e Judá.

Davi conquista Sião

6 *1Cr 11.4-9Foi o rei com seus homens a *Js 15.63;18.28;Jz 1.21Jerusalém contra os jebuseus, que habitavam naquela terra, os quais disseram a Davi: Não entrarás aqui, porque os cegos e os coxos te repelirão, querendo dizer com isso: Davi não poderá entrar aqui. 7 Todavia, Davi tomou a fortaleza de Sião; esta é a *2Sm 6.12,16;1Rs 2.10;9.24Cidade de Davi. 8 Disse Davi naquele dia: Todo o que ferir os jebuseus, suba ao canal e fira os cegos e os coxos, a quem a alma de Davi aborrece. Por isso, se diz: Nem cego nem coxo entrará na casa. 9 Davi habitou na fortaleza, e chamou-lhe a *2Sm 5.7Cidade de Davi. Levantou edifícios ao redor, desde *1Rs 9.15,24Milo e para dentro. 10 *2Sm 3.1Davi ia-se engrandecendo cada vez mais, porque Jeová, Deus dos Exércitos, era com ele.

11 *1Cr 14.1;1Rs 5.2,10,18Hirão, rei de Tiro, enviou mensageiros a Davi, e madeira de cedro, e carpinteiros, e pedreiros, *Sl 30, títuloque edificaram uma casa para Davi. 12 Reconheceu Davi que Jeová o tinha estabelecido rei sobre Israel e que tinha exaltado o reino dele por amor do seu povo de Israel.

13 *Dt 17.17;1Cr 3.9Tomou Davi para si ainda concubinas e mulheres de Jerusalém, depois que viera de Hebrom; e nasceram a Davi mais filhos e filhas. 14 *1Cr 3.5-8Estes são os nomes dos que lhe nasceram em Jerusalém; Samua, Sobabe, Natã, Salomão, 15 Ibar, Elisua, Nefegue, Jafia, 16 Elisama, Eliada e Elifelete.

Davi derrota os filisteus

17 Quando os filisteus ouviram que Davi fora ungido rei sobre Israel, *1Sm 29.1subiram todos em busca dele; o que ouvindo, Davi desceu *2Sm 23.14;1Cr 11.16à fortaleza. 18 Os filisteus tinham vindo e se tinham espalhado pelo *Gn 14.5;Js 15.8;17.15;18.16vale de Refaim. 19 *1Sm 23.2Davi consultou a Jeová, dizendo: Subirei contra os filisteus? Entregar-mos-ás nas mãos? *2Sm 2.1Respondeu Jeová a Davi: Sobe, pois, sem falta, te entregarei nas mãos os filisteus. 20 Veio Davi a Baal-Perazim e ali os derrotou. Ele disse: Jeová rompeu os meus inimigos diante de mim como as águas rompem barreiras. Por isso, chamou o nome daquele lugar Baal-*Is 28.21Perazim. 21 Os filisteus deixaram lá os seus ídolos, e *1Cr 14.12Davi e seus homens os levaram.

22 Os *2Sm 5.18filisteus tornaram a subir e espalharam-se pelo vale de Refaim. 23 *2Sm 5.19Quando Davi consultou a Jeová, respondeu ele: Não subirás; toma por detrás deles e dá sobre eles por defronte das balsamárias. 24 Ao *2Rs 7.6ouvires o som de passos pelas copas das balsamárias, apressar-te-ás, porque *Jz 4.14Jeová marcha diante de ti para ferir ao arraial dos filisteus. 25 Fez Davi como Jeová lhe havia ordenado e feriu os filisteus desde *Is 28.21Geba até *Js 12.12;21.21Gezer.

1 Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, "Behold, we are your bone and your flesh. 2 In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. Yahweh said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’" 3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel.

4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

6 The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, "The blind and the lame will keep you out of here," thinking, "David can’t come in here." 7 Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. This is David’s city. 8 David said on that day, "Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him go up to the watercourse and strike those lame and blind, who are hated by David’s soul." Therefore they say, "The blind and the lame can’t come into the house."

9 David lived in the stronghold, and called it David’s city. David built around from Millo and inward. 10 David grew greater and greater, for Yahweh, the God of Armies, was with him. 11 Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, with cedar trees, carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house. 12 David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.

13 David took more concubines and wives for himself out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David. 14 These are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, 15 Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia, 16 Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet.

17 When the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David, but David heard about it and went down to the stronghold. 18 Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. 19 David inquired of Yahweh, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?"

Yahweh said to David, "Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into your hand."

20 David came to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there. Then he said, "Yahweh has broken my enemies before me, like the breach of waters." Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.*5:20 "Baal Perazim" means "Lord who breaks out". 21 They left their images there, and David and his men took them away.

22 The Philistines came up yet again and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. 23 When David inquired of Yahweh, he said, "You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them in front of the mulberry trees. 24 When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then stir yourself up; for then Yahweh has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines."

25 David did so, as Yahweh commanded him, and struck the Philistines all the way from Geba to Gezer.
