A ressurreição de Jesus

1 *Jo 20.1-8; cp.Mt 28.1-8;Mc 16.1-8;Lc 24.1-10No primeiro dia da semana, *Jo 19.25;Jo 20.18Maria Madalena foi cedo ao túmulo, sendo ainda escuro, e viu *Mt 27.60,66;28.2;Mc 15.46;16.3s.;Lc 24.2;Jo 11.38a pedra removida. 2 Correu ela, e foi ter com Simão Pedro e com o outro *Jo 13.23discípulo a quem Jesus amava, e disse-lhes: *Jo 20.13Tiraram do túmulo o Senhor, e não sabemos onde o puseram. 3 *Jo 20.3-10; cp.Lc 24.12Então, saíram Pedro e o outro discípulo e foram ao túmulo. 4 Corriam ambos juntos, mas o outro discípulo correu mais ligeiro do que Pedro e chegou primeiro ao túmulo; 5 *Jo 20.11tendo-se abaixado e olhando para dentro, viu *Jo 19.40os panos de linho postos no chão, porém não entrou. 6 Chegou Simão Pedro, que o seguia, e entrou no túmulo. Ele também viu os panos de linho e *cp.Jo 11.44o lenço 7 que estivera sobre a cabeça de Jesus e que não estava com os panos, mas dobrado num lugar à parte. 8 Então, entrou também o outro discípulo, que *Jo 20.4tinha chegado primeiro ao túmulo, e viu, e creu. 9 Pois ainda *cp.Mt 22.29;Jo 2.22não compreendiam a Escritura, *Lc 24.26-35,46que era necessário ressuscitar ele dentre os mortos. 10 E voltaram os discípulos *Lc 24.12para casa.

Jesus aparece a Maria Madalena

11 *cp.Mc 16.5Maria, porém, estava junto à entrada do túmulo, chorando. Enquanto chorava, *Jo 20.5abaixou-se, e olhou para dentro do túmulo, 12 e viu *Lc 24.4; cp.Mt 28.2s.;Mc 16.5dois anjos com vestes brancas, sentados onde o corpo de Jesus fora posto, um à cabeceira e outro aos pés. 13 Eles lhe perguntaram: *Jo 20.15Mulher, por que choras? Respondeu ela: Porque *Jo 20.2tiraram o meu Senhor, e não sei onde o puseram. 14 Tendo dito isso, virou-se para trás e *Mc 16.9; cp.Mt 28.9viu a Jesus em pé, mas *cp.Jo 21.4sem saber que era ele. 15 Perguntou-lhe Jesus: *Jo 20.13Mulher, por que choras? A quem procuras? Ela, supondo ser ele o jardineiro, respondeu: Senhor, se tu o tiraste, dize-me onde o puseste, e eu o levarei. 16 Disse-lhe Jesus: Maria! Ela, virando-se, lhe disse *Jo 5.2em hebraico: *Mc 10.51; cp.Mt 23.7Rabôni! (que quer dizer, Mestre). 17 Disse-lhe Jesus: Não me toques; porque ainda não subi ao Pai, mas vai a *Mt 28.10meus irmãos e dize-lhes que *cp.Jo 7.33;Mc 16.19;Jo 12.26subo para meu Pai e vosso Pai, para meu Deus e vosso Deus. 18 *Jo 20.1Maria Madalena foi *Mc 16.10; cp.Lc 24.10,23contar aos discípulos: Vi o Senhor, e ele disse-me essas coisas.

Jesus aparece a dez dos discípulos

19 Nesse dia, que era o primeiro da semana, à tarde, trancadas as portas da casa onde se achavam os discípulos, *Jo 7.13por medo que tinham dos judeus, veio Jesus, e pôs-se no meio deles, e disse-lhes: *Jo 20.21,26;Lc 24.36; cp.Jo 14.27Paz seja convosco! 20 Dito isso, *Lc 24.39-40;Jo 19.34mostrou-lhes as mãos e o lado. Os discípulos *Jo 16.20,22alegraram-se muito ao verem o Senhor. 21 Jesus, de novo, disse-lhes: Paz seja convosco! *Jo 17.18Como o Pai me enviou a mim, assim eu vos envio a vós. 22 Dito isso, soprou sobre eles e disse-lhes: Recebei o Espírito Santo. 23 *Mt 18.18; cp.16.19Àqueles a quem perdoardes os pecados, lhes serão perdoados; e àqueles a quem os retiverdes, lhes serão retidos.

A incredulidade de Tomé

24 Porém *Jo 11.16Tomé, chamado Dídimo, um dos *Jo 6.67doze, não estava com eles quando veio Jesus. 25 Disseram-lhe os outros discípulos: Vimos o Senhor. Mas ele respondeu: Se eu não vir nas *Jo 20.20suas mãos o sinal dos cravos, e não puser o meu dedo no lugar dos cravos, e não puser a minha mão *Jo 20.20no seu lado, *Mc 16.11de modo algum hei de crer.

Jesus aparece aos onze discípulos

26 Oito dias depois, estavam outra vez ali reunidos seus discípulos, e Tomé, com eles. Estando as portas trancadas, veio Jesus, pôs-se em pé no meio deles e disse: *Jo 20.21,26;Lc 24.36; cp.Jo 14.27Paz seja convosco! 27 Em seguida, disse a Tomé: *cp.Jo 20.25;Lc 24.40Chega aqui o teu dedo e olha as minhas mãos; chega também a tua mão e põe-na no meu lado; não sejas incrédulo, mas crente. 28 Respondeu Tomé: Senhor meu e Deus meu! 29 Disse-lhe Jesus: Creste, porque me viste? *1Pe 1.8Bem-aventurados os que não viram e creram.

O objetivo deste Evangelho

30 *Jo 21.25Jesus fez na presença dos discípulos muitos outros *Jo 2.11sinais, que não estão escritos neste livro; 31 estes, porém, estão escritos para *Jo 19.35que creiais que Jesus é o Cristo, *Mt 4.3o Filho de Deus, e para que, *Jo 3.15crendo, tenhais vida em seu nome.

1 Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!"

3 Therefore Peter and the other disciple went out, and they went toward the tomb. 4 They both ran together. The other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5 Stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he didn’t enter in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and entered into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying, 7 and the cloth that had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself. 8 So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they didn’t know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. 10 So the disciples went away again to their own homes.

11 But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb, 12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. 13 They asked her, "Woman, why are you weeping?"

She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him." 14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.

15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?"

She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away."

16 Jesus said to her, "Mary."

She turned and said to him, "Rabboni!"*20:16 Rabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for "great teacher." which is to say, "Teacher!"*20:16 or, Master

17 Jesus said to her, "Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’"

18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her. 19 When therefore it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the middle and said to them, "Peace be to you."

20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus therefore said to them again, "Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you." 22 When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit! 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained."

24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus,*20:24 or, Twin wasn’t with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, "We have seen the Lord!"

But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe."

26 After eight days, again his disciples were inside and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the middle, and said, "Peace be to you." 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing."

28 Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Jesus said to him, "Because you have seen me,*20:29 TR adds "Thomas," you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed."

30 Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
