A idolatria de Israel e sua desobediência às leis

1 *Os 5.8Põe a trombeta à tua boca! Ele vem *Hc 1.8como águia contra a Casa de Jeová; porque *Os 6.7transgrediram a minha aliança e violaram a minha *Os 8.12;Os 4.6lei. 2 A mim *Os 7.14me invocarão, dizendo: Deus meu, nós, Israel, te conhecemos. 3 Israel rejeitou o que *Os 3.5é bom; o inimigo o perseguirá. 4 Eles *Os 13.10-11estabeleceram reis, porém não da minha parte; constituíram príncipes, e eu não o soube; da *Os 2.8;13.1-2sua prata e do seu ouro fizeram para si ídolos, para serem exterminados. 5 Ele rejeitou o teu *Os 8.6;Os 10.5;13.2bezerro, ó Samaria; a minha ira está acesa contra eles; até quando serão eles incapazes da *Sl 19.13;Jr 13.27inocência? 6 Pois até isso procede de Israel; um *Os 13.2artífice o fez, e não é Deus; sim, o bezerro de Samaria será despedaçado. 7 Pois semeiam *Os 10.13o vento e ceifarão *Is 66.15;Na 1.3o turbilhão; nele, não há trigo em espigas, *Os 2.9a erva não dará farinha; se a der, tragá-la-ão estrangeiros.

8 Israel está *Jr 51.34tragado; agora, se acham eles entre as nações como um *Os 13.15;Jr 25.34vaso em que não há prazer. 9 Pois subiram à *Os 7.11Assíria, como um jumento montês sozinho; Efraim *Ez 16.33dá presentes aos seus amantes. 10 Ainda que deem presentes entre as nações, agora, *Ez 22.20os congregarei; e começam a ser *Jr 42.2diminuídos por causa da carga do *Is 10.8rei dos príncipes.

11 Porque Efraim *Os 10.1;12.11multiplicou altares para pecar, altares lhe são para pecar. 12 Embora eu lhe escreva a minha *Os 8.1;Os 4.6lei em miríades de preceitos, estes são tidos como coisa estranha. 13 Quanto *Os 5.6;9.4aos sacrifícios das minhas ofertas, eles *Jr 6.20;7.21sacrificam carne e a comem, porém Jeová não os aceita; agora, *Os 7.2;Lc 12.2;1Co 4.5se lembrará da iniquidade deles *Os 4.9;9.7e visitará sobre eles os pecados; eles voltarão para *Os 9.3,6o Egito. 14 Pois Israel *Os 2.13;4.6;13.6se esqueceu do seu Criador *Is 9.9-10e edificou palácios; e Judá multiplicou cidades fortificadas. Porém eu enviarei sobre as suas cidades um *Jr 17.27fogo que devorará os seus palácios.

1 "Put the trumpet to your lips!

Something like an eagle is over Yahweh’s house,

because they have broken my covenant

and rebelled against my law.

2 They cry to me, ‘My God, we, Israel, acknowledge you!’

3 Israel has cast off that which is good.

The enemy will pursue him.

4 They have set up kings, but not by me.

They have made princes, and I didn’t approve.

Of their silver and their gold they have made themselves idols,

that they may be cut off.

5 Let Samaria throw out his calf idol!

My anger burns against them!

How long will it be until they are capable of purity?

6 For this is even from Israel!

The workman made it, and it is no God;

indeed, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

7 For they sow the wind,

and they will reap the whirlwind.

He has no standing grain.

The stalk will yield no head.

If it does yield, strangers will swallow it up.

8 Israel is swallowed up.

Now they are among the nations like a worthless thing.

9 For they have gone up to Assyria,

like a wild donkey wandering alone.

Ephraim has hired lovers for himself.

10 But although they sold themselves among the nations,

I will now gather them;

and they begin to waste away because of the oppression of the king of mighty ones.

11 Because Ephraim has multiplied altars for sinning,

they became for him altars for sinning.

12 I wrote for him the many things of my law,

but they were regarded as a strange thing.

13 As for the sacrifices of my offerings,

they sacrifice meat and eat it,

but Yahweh doesn’t accept them.

Now he will remember their iniquity,

and punish their sins.

They will return to Egypt.

14 For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces;

and Judah has multiplied fortified cities;

but I will send a fire on his cities,

and it will devour its fortresses."
