Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful even until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, »Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!«
And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, »Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent;
for I am with you, and no man will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.«
But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, »Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
And the angel said to her, »Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
But ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, »Do not be afraid; only believe.«
