Jesus said to him, »I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
7 It is for discipline that you endure. God is treating you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
9 Besides this, we have had fathers of our flesh to discipline us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?
10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.
For the creation waits with eager expectation for the revealing of the sons of God.
See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God! And so we are! The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
But to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
I wrote to you, little children, because you have known the Father.I wrote to you, fathers, because you have known himwho is from the beginning.I wrote to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you,and you have overcome the evil one.
To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
But you are not to be called Rabbi, for you have only one Master, and you are all brethren.
And do not call anyone on earth your Father, for you have one Father, he who is in heaven.
Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also give us all things with him?
No one has ever seen God; God the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
But when you pray, go into your room, shut the door and pray to your Father, who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent?
Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!«
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
He who has my commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.«
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship by whom we cry out, »Abba, Father.«
The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Fathers will.
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
2 »Honor your father and mother« (which is the first commandment with a promise),
3 »that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.«
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of my Father's hand.
I and the Father are one.«
Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me may be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
Fathers, do not provoke your children, or they will become discouraged.
You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
I write to you, fathers, because you have known himwho is from the beginning.I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one.
»All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
so that you do not appear to be fasting to men, but to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Jesus answered him, »If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
