1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men who were casting their gifts into the treasury.2 And he saw a certain poor widow casting in there two dollars.3 And he said, Of a truth I say to you{+}, This poor widow cast in more than all of them:4 for all these of their superfluity cast in to the gifts; but she of her want cast in all the living that she had.5 And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and offerings, he said,6 As for these things which you{+} are looking at, the days will come, in which there will not be left one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.7 And they asked him, saying, Teacher, when therefore will these things be? And what [will be] the sign when these things are about to come to pass?8 And he said, Take heed that you{+} are not led astray: for many will come in my name, saying, I am [he]; and, The time is at hand: don't go{+} after them.9 And when you{+} will hear of wars and tumults, don't be terrified: for these things must surely come to pass first; but the end is not immediately.10 Then he said to them, Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom;11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in diverse places famines and pestilences; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you{+}, and will persecute you{+}, delivering you{+} up to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you{+} before kings and governors for my name's sake.13 It will turn out to you{+} for a testimony.14 Settle it therefore in your{+} hearts, not to meditate beforehand how to answer:15 for I will give you{+} a mouth and wisdom, which all your{+} adversaries will not be able to withstand or to gainsay.16 But you{+} will be delivered up even by parents, and brothers, and kinsfolk, and friends; and [some] of you{+} they will cause to be put to death.17 And you{+} will be hated of all men for my name's sake.18 And not a hair of your{+} head will perish.19 In your{+} patience you{+} win your{+} souls.20 But when you{+} see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let those who are inside her depart out; and don't let those who are in the country enter into her.22 For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.23 Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse in those days! For there will be great distress on the land, and wrath to this people.24 And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem will be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.25 And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows;26 men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming upon the world: for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.28 But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your{+} heads; because your{+} redemption draws near.29 And he spoke to them a parable: Look at the fig tree, and all the trees:30 when they now shoot forth, you{+} see it and know of your{+} own selves that the summer is now near.31 Even so you{+} also, when you{+} see these things coming to pass, know{+} that the kingdom of God is near.32 Truly I say to you{+}, This generation will not pass away, until all things be accomplished.33 Heaven and earth will pass away: but my words will not pass away.34 But take heed to yourselves, lest perhaps your{+} hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come upon you{+} suddenly as a snare:35 for [so] it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth.36 But watch{+} at every season, making supplication, that you{+} may prevail to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.37 And every day he was teaching in the temple; and every night he went out, and lodged in the mount that is called of Olives.38 And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, to hear him.

1 Jesus olhou e viu os ricos colocando suas contribuições nas caixas de ofertas.2 Viu também uma viúva pobre colocar duas pequeninas moedas de cobre.3 E disse: "Afirmo-lhes que esta viúva pobre colocou mais do que todos os outros.4 Todos esses deram do que lhes sobrava; mas ela, da sua pobreza, deu tudo o que possuía para viver".5 Alguns dos seus discípulos estavam comentando como o templo era adornado com lindas pedras e dádivas dedicadas a Deus. Mas Jesus disse:6 "Disso que vocês estão vendo, dias virão em que não ficará pedra sobre pedra; serão todas derrubadas".7 "Mestre", perguntaram eles, "quando acontecerão essas coisas? E qual será o sinal de que elas estão prestes a acontecer? "8 Ele respondeu: "Cuidado para não serem enganados. Pois muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: ‘Sou eu! ’ e ‘o tempo está próximo’. Não os sigam.9 Quando ouvirem falar de guerras e rebeliões, não tenham medo. É necessário que primeiro aconteçam essas coisas, mas o fim não virá imediatamente".10 Então lhes disse: "Nação se levantará contra nação, e reino contra reino.11 Haverá grandes terremotos, fomes e pestes em vários lugares, e acontecimentos terríveis e grandes sinais provenientes do céu.12 "Mas antes de tudo isso, prenderão e perseguirão vocês. Então os entregarão às sinagogas e prisões, e vocês serão levados à presença de reis e governadores, tudo por causa do meu nome.13 Será para vocês uma oportunidade de dar testemunho.14 Mas convençam-se de uma vez de que não devem preocupar-se com o que dirão para se defender.15 Pois eu lhes darei palavras e sabedoria a que nenhum dos seus adversários será capaz de resistir ou contradizer.16 Vocês serão traídos até por pais, irmãos, parentes e amigos, e eles entregarão alguns de vocês à morte.17 Todos odiarão vocês por causa do meu nome.18 Contudo, nenhum fio de cabelo da cabeça de vocês se perderá.19 É perseverando que vocês obterão a vida.20 "Quando virem Jerusalém rodeada de exércitos, vocês saberão que a sua devastação está próxima.21 Então os que estiverem na Judéia fujam para os montes, os que estiverem na cidade saiam, e os que estiverem no campo não entrem na cidade.22 Pois esses são os dias da vingança, em cumprimento de tudo o que foi escrito.23 Como serão terríveis aqueles dias para as grávidas e para as que estiverem amamentando! Haverá grande aflição na terra e ira contra este povo.24 Cairão pela espada e serão levados como prisioneiros para todas as nações. Jerusalém será pisada pelos gentios, até que os tempos deles se cumpram.25 "Haverá sinais no sol, na lua e nas estrelas. Na terra, as nações se verão em angústia e perplexidade com o bramido e a agitação do mar.26 Os homens desmaiarão de terror, apreensivos com o que estará sobrevindo ao mundo; e os poderes celestes serão abalados.27 Então se verá o Filho do homem vindo numa nuvem com poder e grande glória.28 Quando começarem a acontecer estas coisas, levantem-se e ergam a cabeça, porque estará próxima a redenção de vocês".29 Ele lhes contou esta parábola: "Observem a figueira e todas as árvores.30 Quando elas brotam, vocês mesmos percebem e sabem que o verão está próximo.31 Assim também, quando virem estas coisas acontecendo, saibam que o Reino de Deus está próximo.32 "Eu lhes asseguro que não passará esta geração até que todas essas coisas aconteçam.33 O céu e a terra passarão, mas as minhas palavras jamais passarão.34 "Tenham cuidado, para que os seus corações não fiquem carregados de libertinagem, bebedeira e ansiedades da vida, e aquele dia venha sobre vocês inesperadamente.35 Porque ele virá sobre todos os que vivem na face de toda a terra.36 Estejam sempre atentos e orem para que vocês possam escapar de tudo o que está para acontecer, e estar de pé diante do Filho do homem".37 Jesus passava o dia ensinando no templo; e, ao entardecer, saía para passar a noite no monte chamado das Oliveiras.38 Todo o povo ia de manhã cedo ouvi-lo no templo.
