1 Moreover Yahweh answered Job,
2 "Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty?
He who argues with God, let him answer it."
3 Then Job answered Yahweh,
4 "Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you?
I lay my hand on my mouth.
5 I have spoken once, and I will not answer;
Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further."
6 Then Yahweh answered Job out of the whirlwind:
7 "Now brace yourself like a man.
I will question you, and you will answer me.
8 Will you even annul my judgment?
Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
9 Or do you have an arm like God?
Can you thunder with a voice like him?
10 "Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity.
Array yourself with honor and majesty.
11 Pour out the fury of your anger.
Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low.
12 Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him.
Crush the wicked in their place.
13 Hide them in the dust together.
Bind their faces in the hidden place.
14 Then I will also admit to you
that your own right hand can save you.
15 "See now behemoth, which I made as well as you.
He eats grass as an ox.
16 Look now, his strength is in his thighs.
His force is in the muscles of his belly.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar.
The sinews of his thighs are knit together.
18 His bones are like tubes of bronze.
His limbs are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God.
He who made him gives him his sword.
20 Surely the mountains produce food for him,
where all the animals of the field play.
21 He lies under the lotus trees,
in the covert of the reed, and the marsh.
22 The lotuses cover him with their shade.
The willows of the brook surround him.
23 Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble.
He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth.
24 Shall any take him when he is on the watch,
or pierce through his nose with a snare?
1 耶和华又对约伯说：
2 "挑剔是非的， 怎能与全能者争辩呢？责备 神的， 回答这个问题吧。"
3 于是约伯回答耶和华说：
4 "我是微小的， 可以回答你什么呢？我只好用手掩口。
5 这说了一次， 不再回答； 说了二次就不再说。"
6 于是耶和华从旋风中回答约伯说：
7 "你要如勇士束腰， 我要问你， 你要告诉我。
8 你怎能废弃我所审断的？怎能定我为有罪， 好显出你自己为义呢？
9 你有 神那样的膀臂吗？你能用他那样的声音打雷吗？
10 你当以庄严与尊贵为装饰， 以尊荣与威严为衣服。
11 要倒尽你忿激的怒气， 观看所有骄傲的人， 使他们降卑。
12 观看所有骄傲的人， 把他制伏， 把恶人践踏在他们的地方，
13 把他们一起掩藏在尘土里， 把他们本人捆绑在隐密处。
14 这样， 我就要向你承认， 你的右手能拯救你。
15 你看看河马吧， 我造它像造你一样， 它吃草如牛一般。
16 你看， 它的力量在腰间， 它的能力在肚腹的肌肉上，
17 它挺直尾巴硬如香柏树， 它大腿的筋纠结在一起，
18 它的骨头仿佛铜管， 它的骨干好像铁棍。
19 它在 神所造的事工中居首， 只有创造它的能使刀剑临到它身上。
20 群山为它生出食物， 田野的百兽都在那里玩耍。
21 它躺在莲叶之下， 躺在芦苇丛中与泥泽之间；
22 莲叶的阴影遮蔽它， 溪旁的白杨树环绕它。
23 江河泛滥， 它毫不慌张， 约旦河的水涨到它的口边， 它还是安然。
24 它警觉的时候谁能捉拿它？谁能用铁圈穿它的鼻子呢？"
