1 "To the angel of the assembly in Ephesus write:

"He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks among the seven golden lamp stands says these things:

2 "I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves emissaries, and they are not, and found them false. 3 You have perseverance and have endured for my name’s sake, and have not grown weary. 4 But I have this against you, that you left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; or else I am coming to you swiftly, and will move your lamp stand out of its place, unless you repent. 6 But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of my God.

8 "To the angel of the assembly in Smyrna write:

"The first and the last, who was dead, and has come to life says these things:

9 "I know your works, oppression, and your poverty (but you are rich), and the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. 10 Don’t be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life. 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’t be harmed by the second death.

12 "To the angel of the assembly in Pergamum write:

"He who has the sharp two-edged sword says these things:

13 "I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. You hold firmly to my name, and didn’t deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. 14 But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. 15 So you also have some who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans likewise. 16 Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war against them with the sword of my mouth. 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no one knows but he who receives it.

18 "To the angel of the assembly in Thyatira write:

"The Son of God, who has his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like burnished brass, says these things:

19 "I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first. 20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. 22 Behold, I will throw her and those who commit adultery with her into a bed of great oppression, unless they repent of her works. 23 I will kill her children with Death, and all the assemblies will know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts. I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. 24 But to you I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as don’t have this teaching, who don’t know what some call ‘the deep things of Satan,’ to you I say, I am not putting any other burden on you. 25 Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come. 26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations. 27 He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots; as I also have received of my Father: 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

1 Escreve ao anjo da igreja em Éfeso:Esta é a mensagem que envia aquele que anda entre os sete castiçais de ouro, sustentando as sete estrelas com a mão direita:62 Eu conheço as coisas que tens feito. Observei o teu trabalho e a tua perseverança; sei que não podes tolerar os maus e que soubeste pôr à prova os que se dizem apóstolos e não o são, verificando que são mentirosos.3 Tens perseverança, e tens sofrido por minha causa sem te cansares.4 Há contudo uma coisa que tenho contra ti: o teu amor já não é o mesmo como no princípio.5 Lembra-te pois desses primeiros tempos, arrepende-te, e trabalha como fazias antes; caso contrário brevemente virei e tirarei o teu castiçal do seu lugar se não te arrependeres.6 Há porém isto de bom a teu respeito: é que detestas as obras dos nicolaítas, tal como eu também.7 Quem pode ouvir ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas. Ao que vencer, darei a comer do fruto da ávore da vida que está no paraíso de Deus.8 Ao anjo da igreja em Esmirna escreve:Isto é o que diz aquele que é o primeiro e o último, que foi morto e voltou à vida.9 Eu sei tudo o que tens sofrido, sei a tua pobreza - e contudo és rico! Estou ao corrente das calúnias dos que se dizem judeus, mas não o são; são antes uma congregação de Satanás.10 Não receies aquilo que virás a sofrer. O Diabo vai lançar alguns de vocês na prisão, para vos pôr à prova ão-de ser perseguidos durante dez dias. Sê fiel até à morte e eu te darei a coroa da vida.11 Quem pode ouvir, que ouça o que o Espírito está a dizer às igrejas. O que vencer não terá que sofrer a segunda morte.12 Escreve esta carta ao anjo da igreja que está em Pérgamo:Esta é a mensagem que dirige aquele que tem a espada aguda de dois fios. Eu sei onde vives, que é onde está o trono de Satanás. E apesar disso permaneces-me fiel e recusaste negar-me quando Antipas, minha testemunha fiel, foi martirizado no vosso meio, onde Satanás domina.14 Contudo, tenho umas quantas coisas contra ti. Toleras no teu meio uma gente que faz como Balaão quando ensinou Balaque a seduzir o povo de Israel, convidando-o a participar nas celebrações aos ídolos e a entregarem-se à imoralidade sexual.15 Tu também tens seguidores do ensino dos nicolaítas.16 Arrepende-te; caso contrário em breve virei e lutarei contra eles com a espada da minha boca.17 Que quem pode ouvir ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas. O que vencer comerá do maná escondido; e a cada um darei uma pedra branca em que estará gravado um nome novo que ninguém mais conhece a não ser aquele que o recebe.18 Ao anjo da igreja em Tiatira:Isto diz o Filho de Deus cujos olhos são como labaredas de fogo, cujos pés são como bronze resplandecente:19 Conheço as tuas obras, o teu amor, o teu serviço, a tua fé e a tua paciência nas provações. Vejo que tem havido progresso em todas estas coisas.20 Mas tenho isto contra ti: Permites que essa mulher Jezabel, que se considera ela própria profetiza, engane os meus servos ensinando-os a prostituírem-se e a comerem dos sacrifícios feitos aos ídolos.21 Dei-lhe tempo para se arrepender, mas recusou. Não quer converter-se da sua imoralidade.722 Eu a porei sobre uma cama de sofrimento, juntamente com todos os que adulteram com ela; a menos que se arrependam;23 e ferirei de morte os seus filhos. E todas as igrejas saberão que eu conheço a mente e o coração dos homens. Darei a cada um aquilo que merece segundo as suas obras.24 Quanto aos restantes membros da igreja em Tiatira, que não seguiram estes falsos ensinos (que não são mais do que profundezas de Satanás), nada mais vos pedirei além do que já pedi.25 Mas, aquilo que já têm, retenham-no até que eu venha.26 E ao que vencer, que fizer até ao fim o que me agrada, dar-lhe-ei autoridade sobre as nações,27 para governá-las com uma vara de ferro, segundo a autoridade que também recebi de meu Pai, e poderá destruí-las como se quebra um vaso de barro.28 E lhe darei a estrela da manhã!29 Os que podem ouvir que ouçam o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.
