We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; |

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; |
Szüntelenül emlegetve a ti hitetek munkáját, és a ti szeretetetek fáradozását, és a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus felõl való reménységeteknek állhatatosságát, az Isten elõtt, a mi Atyánk elõtt: |

Knowing, brethren beloved by God, your election. |
Tudván, Istentõl szeretett atyámfiai, hogy ti ki vagytok választva; |

For our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. |
Hogy a mi evangyéliomunk ti nálatok nem áll csak szóban, hanem [isteni] erõkben is, Szent Lélekben is, sok bizodalomban is; a miképen tudjátok, hogy milyenek voltunk közöttetek ti érettetek. |

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit: |
És ti a mi követõinkké lettetek és az Úréi, befogadván az ígét sokféle szorongattatás között, Szent Lélek örömével; |

So that ye were examples to all that believe, in Macedonia and Achaia. |
Úgy hogy példaképekké lettetek Maczedóniában és Akhájában minden hívõre nézve. |

For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. |
Mert nemcsak Maczedóniában és Akhájában zendült ki tõletek az Úr beszéde, hanem minden helyen is híre terjedt a ti Istenben vetett hiteteknek, annyira, hogy szükségtelen arról valamit szólnunk. |

For they themselves show of us what manner of entrance we had to you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God; |
Mert azok magok hirdetik felõlünk, milyen volt a mi hozzátok való menetelünk, és miként tértetek meg az Istenhez a bálványoktól, hogy az élõ és igaz Istennek szolgáljatok, |

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivered us from the wrath to come. |
És várjátok az Õ Fiát az égbõl, a kit feltámasztott a halálból, a Jézust, a ki megszabadít minket amaz eljövendõ haragtól. |
