Jó 26

1 But Job answered and said, Jób pedig felele, és monda:
2 How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength? Bezzeg jól segítettél a tehetetlenen, meggyámolítottad az erõtelen kart!
3 How hast thou counseled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou abundantly declared the thing as it is? Bezzeg jó tanácsot adtál a tudatlannak, és sok értelmet tanusítottál!
4 To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee? Kivel beszélgettél, és kinek a lelke jött ki belõled?
5 Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof. A halottak is megremegnek [tõle;] a vizek alatt levõk és azok lakói is.
6 Hell is naked before him, and destruction hath no covering. Az alvilág mezítelen elõtte, és eltakaratlan a holtak országa.
7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. Õ terjeszti ki északot az üresség fölé és függeszti föl a földet a semmiség fölé.
8 He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them. Õ köti össze felhõibe a vizeket úgy, hogy a felhõ alattok meg nem hasad.
9 He holdeth back the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud upon it. Õ rejti el királyi székének színét, felhõjét fölibe terítvén.
10 He hath encompassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end. Õ szab határt a víz színe fölé - a világosságnak és setétségnek elvégzõdéséig.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof. Az egek oszlopai megrendülnek, és düledeznek fenyegetéseitõl.
12 mapa He divideth the sea by his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud. Erejével felriasztja a tengert, és bölcseségével megtöri Ráhábot.
13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent. Lehelletével megékesíti az eget, keze átdöfi a futó kígyót.
14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand? Ímé, ezek az õ útainak részei, de mily kicsiny rész az, a mit meghallunk abból! Ám az õ hatalmának mennydörgését ki érthetné meg?
