8 It hath been told thee, O man, what is good, and what the LORD doth require of thee: only to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.

9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was in his generations a man righteous and whole-hearted; Noah walked with God.

1 THERE was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was whole-hearted and upright, and one that feared God, and shunned evil.

24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man keep his way pure? By taking heed thereto according to Thy word.10 With my whole heart have I sought Thee; O let me not err from Thy commandments.11 Thy word have I laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee.12 Blessed art Thou, O LORD; teach me Thy statutes.13 With my lips have I told all the ordinances of Thy mouth.14 I have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.15 I will meditate in Thy precepts, and have respect unto Thy ways.16 I will delight myself in Thy statutes; I will not forget Thy word.

1 BOOK I HAPPY IS the man that hath not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of the scornful.2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.3 And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that bringeth forth its fruit in its season, and whose leaf doth not wither; and in whatsoever he doeth he shall prosper.4 Not so the wicked; but they are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.5 Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.6 For the LORD regardeth the way of the righteous; but the way of the wicked shall perish.
