O namoro cristão deve ser vivido com sabedoria, pureza e propósito. A Bíblia orienta sobre escolher um cônjuge, guardar o coração e honrar a Deus em todo relacionamento.
Guardar o coração
Sobre tudo o que se deve guardar, guarda o teu coração, porque dele procedem as fontes da vida. O namoro exige vigilância e sabedoria.
23 Above every charge keep thy heart, For out of it [are] the outgoings of life.
14 Become not yoked with others -- unbelievers, for what partaking [is there] to righteousness and lawlessness?15 and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever?
3 Do two walk together if they have not met?

Pureza e santidade
O corpo é templo do Espírito Santo. A Bíblia nos chama a fugir da imoralidade e esperar no amor com paciência e respeito mútuo.
18 flee the whoredom; every sin -- whatever a man may commit -- is without the body, and he who is committing whoredom, against his own body doth sin.19 Have ye not known that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own,20 for ye were bought with a price; glorify, then, God in your body and in your spirit, which are Gods.
13 the meats [are] for the belly, and the belly for the meats. And God both this and these shall make useless; and the body [is] not for whoredom, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body;
9 and if they have not continence -- let them marry, for it is better to marry than to burn;
4 I have adjured you, daughters of Jerusalem, How ye stir up, And how ye wake the love till she please!
4 honourable [is] the marriage in all, and the bed undefiled, and whoremongers and adulterers God shall judge.
A esposa prudente vem do Senhor
Deus criou o homem e a mulher para completarem-se. A casa e os bens são herança dos pais, mas a esposa prudente vem do Senhor.
