Poder
Quando a vida exige mais do que as suas forças conseguem suportar, é comum sentir o peso da fraqueza humana. Você tenta carregar o dia, resolver os problemas e manter a esperança, mas percebe que falta combustível para continuar. É exatamente nessa hora que a Escritura lembra de onde vem a verdadeira sustentação para a caminhada.
Deus não pede que você resolva tudo sozinho nem espera que encontre coragem dentro de si mesmo. O Criador reparte a força dele com quem crê, transformando medos em coragem e fraqueza em perseverança. As palavras registradas a seguir mostram como esse auxílio se manifesta na prática, renovando o ânimo para enfrentar cada desafio com serenidade.
O poder de Deus opera nos que creem. A Bíblia revela que o cristão recebe poder do alto para viver, servir e vencer — não por força própria, mas pelo Espírito de Deus.
Poder do Espírito Santo
Jesus prometeu que seus seguidores receberiam poder ao descer sobre eles o Espírito Santo. Esse poder capacita para testemunho e serviço.
But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.
Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.
Poder na Palavra e na fé
A Palavra de Deus é viva e eficaz, mais cortante que espada de dois gumes. O poder não está em palavras, mas na demonstração do Espírito.
For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.
For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
And these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.
Fortalecidos pelo Senhor
Tudo posso naquele que me fortalece. O cristão encontra poder não em si mesmo, mas na força do Senhor e na sua armadura espiritual.
I can do all things in him that strengtheneth me.
Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.
strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;
Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful? have ye not yet faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
