Raiva
A raiva é uma emoção humana que a Bíblia trata com seriedade. Irar-se não é pecado em si, mas a ira descontrolada destrói relacionamentos e abre porta para o mal.
Controlar a ira
A Bíblia nos exorta a ser tardios para irar-se. A resposta branda desvia o furor, e o que se controla é mais forte que um guerreiro.
19 Mark this well, my dear brothers. Let every man be swift in hearing, slow in speaking, slow in growing angry;
Irar-se sem pecar
Paulo ensina: irai-vos, mas não pequeis. Não deixe o sol se pôr sobre a vossa ira, para não dar lugar ao diabo.
26 "Be angry and sin not"; let not the sun go down upon your anger.27 Give the devil no place.
Amor e perdão acima da raiva
O amor cobre multidão de pecados. A Bíblia nos chama a não alimentar rancor, mas a perdoar e amar, vencendo a raiva com compaixão.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love envies not; love makes no parade, is not puffed up,5 is not rude, nor selfish, nor easily provoked. Love bears no malice, never rejoices over wrong-doing,
20 "What comes out of a man," he continued, "is what defiles him.21 From within, from the heart of man, proceed evil purposes -22 fornication, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, wantonness, envy, slander, arrogance, reckless folly -23 all these wicked things issue from within and defile a man."
12 See to it, brothers, that there shall never be in any one of you an evil and unbelieving heart, manifesting itself in apostasy from the living God.
