Resistir ao diabo e às forças do mal é um imperativo bíblico. Deus nos deu autoridade, armas espirituais e poder para enfrentar e vencer toda investida do inimigo.
Autoridade em Cristo
Jesus deu aos seus discípulos autoridade sobre todo o poder do inimigo. Em seu nome, temos domínio sobre as trevas.
19 Lo! I have given you the authorityto be treading upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and, nothing, unto you, shall in anywise do harm;
17 And the seventy -two returned, with joy, sayingLord! even the demons, submit themselves unto us, in thy name!
1 And, calling together the twelve, he gave them power and authority over all the demons, and to be curing, diseases;
1 And, calling near his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over impure spirits,so as to be casting them out, and curing every disease and every infirmity.
19 I will give thee, the keys of the kingdom of the heavens,and, whatsoever thou shalt bind upon the earth, shall be bound in the heavens, and, whatsoever thou shalt loose upon the earth, shall be loosed in the heavens.

10 For the rest, be empowering yourselves in the Lord, and in the grasp of his might:11 Put on the complete armour of God, with a view to your having power to stand against the strategies of the adversary;
27 Neither be giving place unto the adversary;
4 For, the weapons of our warfare, are not fleshly, but mighty, by God, unto a pulling down of strongholds,5 When we pull down, calculations, and every height that uplifteth itself against the knowledge of God, and when we bring into captivity every thought unto the obedience of the Christ,

Resistir ao diabo é um ato de fé ativa. A Bíblia nos garante que quando resistimos, ele foge, e que maior é o que está em nós do que o que está no mundo.
8 Be sober! be watchful! Your slanderous adversary, as a roaring lion, is walking aboutseeking to devour:9 Whom resist, steadfast in your faith, knowing that, the same sufferings, in your brotherhood that is in the world, are being accomplished.
4 Ye, are, of God, dear children, and have overcome them; because, greater, is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
8 He that is committing sin, is, of the adversary, because, from the beginning, the adversary is sinning. To this end, was the Son of God made manifest, in order that he might undo the works of the adversary.
33 But, he, turning round and looking upon his disciples, rebuked Peter, and saithWithdraw behind me, Satan! because thou art not regarding the things, of God, but the things, of men.
19 That they may revereFrom the West the name of Yahweh, And from the Rising of the Sun his glory, For he will come in like a rushing stream, the breath of Yahweh, driving it on;
