Uma só carne
O conceito de 'uma só carne' é o fundamento bíblico do casamento. Desde a criação, Deus uniu homem e mulher em uma aliança indissolúvel de amor, compromisso e intimidade.
A instituição divina do casamento
Deus criou o homem e a mulher e os uniu em aliança. O casamento é obra de Deus, e o que Ele juntou não separe o ser humano.
21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the place with flesh instead thereof.22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.23 And the man said: 'This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.'24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.
18 And the LORD God said: 'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.'
27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
O mistério da união

15 And not one hath done so who had exuberance of spirit! For what seeketh the one? a seed given of God. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
Fidelidade e alegria
A aliança conjugal exige fidelidade, respeito e dedicação mútua. A Bíblia celebra a alegria da intimidade dentro do casamento.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.19 A lovely hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; with her love be thou ravished always.20 Why then wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of an alien?
