1 Depois disse o Senhor a Moisés: Fala aos sacerdotes, filhos de Arão, e dize-lhes: O sacerdote não se contaminará por causa de um morto entre o seu povo,2 Salvo por seu parente mais chegado: por sua mãe, e por seu pai, e por seu filho, e por sua filha, e por seu irmão.3 E por sua irmã virgem, chegada a ele, que ainda não teve marido; por ela também se contaminará.4 Ele sendo principal entre o seu povo, não se contaminará, pois que se profanaria.5 Não farão calva na sua cabeça, e não raparão as extremidades da sua barba, nem darão golpes na sua carne.6 Santos serão a seu Deus, e não profanarão o nome do seu Deus, porque oferecem as ofertas queimadas do Senhor, e o pão do seu Deus; portanto serão santos.7 Não tomarão mulher prostituta ou desonrada, nem tomarão mulher repudiada de seu marido; pois santo é a seu Deus.8 Portanto o santificarás, porquanto oferece o pão do teu Deus; santo será para ti, pois eu, o Senhor que vos santifica, sou santo.9 E quando a filha de um sacerdote começar a prostituir-se, profana a seu pai; com fogo será queimada.10 E o sumo sacerdote entre seus irmãos, sobre cuja cabeça foi derramado o azeite da unção, e que for consagrado para vestir as vestes, não descobrirá a sua cabeça nem rasgará as suas vestes;11 E não se chegará a cadáver algum, nem por causa de seu pai nem por sua mãe se contaminará;12 Nem sairá do santuário, para que não profane o santuário do seu Deus, pois a coroa do azeite da unção do seu Deus está sobre ele. Eu sou o Senhor.13 E ele tomará por esposa uma mulher na sua virgindade.14 Viúva, ou repudiada ou desonrada ou prostituta, estas não tomará; mas virgem do seu povo tomará por mulher.15 E não profanará a sua descendência entre o seu povo; porque eu sou o Senhor que o santifico.16 Falou mais o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo:17 Fala a Arão, dizendo: Ninguém da tua descendência, nas suas gerações, em que houver algum defeito, se chegará a oferecer o pão do seu Deus.18 Pois nenhum homem em quem houver alguma deformidade se chegará; como homem cego, ou coxo, ou de nariz chato, ou de membros demasiadamente compridos,19 Ou homem que tiver quebrado o pé, ou a mão quebrada,20 Ou corcunda, ou anão, ou que tiver defeito no olho, ou sarna, ou impigem, ou que tiver testículo mutilado.21 Nenhum homem da descendência de Arão, o sacerdote, em quem houver alguma deformidade, se chegará para oferecer as ofertas queimadas do Senhor; defeito nele há; não se chegará para oferecer o pão do seu Deus.22 Ele comerá do pão do seu Deus, tanto do santíssimo como do santo.23 Porém até ao véu não entrará, nem se chegará ao altar, porquanto defeito há nele, para que não profane os meus santuários; porque eu sou o Senhor que os santifico.24 E Moisés falou isto a Arão e a seus filhos, e a todos os filhos de Israel.

1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, None of them shall defile himself on the dead, among his people;2 But on his kin, that is near unto him, that is, on his mother, and on his father, and on his son, and on his daughter, and on his brother,3 And on his sister that is a virgin, that is nigh unto him, who hath had no husband: on her may he defile himself.4 The chief man among his people shall not defile himself, to be profaned thereby.5 They shall not make any baldness upon their head, and the corner of their beard shall they not shave off, and in their flesh shall they not make any incision.6 Holy shall they be unto their God, and they shall not profane the name of their God; for the fire–offerings of the Lord, the bread of their God, do they offer, they shall therefore be holy.7 A woman that is a harlot, or one profaned, shall they not take; and a woman put away from her husband shall they not take; for holy is he unto his God.8 And thou shalt sanctify him; for the bread of thy God doth he offer: holy shall he be unto thee; for I the Lord, who sanctify you, am holy.9 And if the daughter of any priest profane herself by committing incest, her father doth she profane: with fire shall she be burnt.10 And the priest that is highest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil hath been poured, and who hath been consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head grow long, and his garments shall he not rend;11 Neither shall he go in to any dead body; even on his father, and on his mother shall he not defile himself.12 And out of the sanctuary shall he not go, that he may not profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord.13 And he shall take a wife in her virgin state.14 A widow, and a divorced woman, and one profaned, and a harlot, these shall he not take; but a virgin of his own people shall he take for wife;15 So that he may not profane his seed among his people; for I, the Lord, do sanctify him.16 And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,17 Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever of thy seed in their generations it be on whom there is any blemish, shall not approach to offer the bread of his God.18 For whatsoever man it be on whom there is a blemish, shall not approach: a blind, or a lame man, or one that hath a flattened nose, or a man one of whose limbs is too long,19 Or a man who hath a broken foot, or a broken hand,20 Or a crookbacked, or a dwarf, or one that hath a blemish in his eye, or the itch, or the scurvy, or the testicles broken.21 Every man on whom there is a blemish, of the seed of Aaron the priest, shall not come nigh to offer the fire–offerings of the Lord: there is a blemish on him; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.22 The brewed of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy things he may eat.23 Only unto the vail, and unto the altar shall he not come nigh, because there is a blemish on him; that he profane not my holy things; for I the Lord do sanctify them.24 And Moses spoke thus unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.
