1 E ele mostrou-me o sumo sacerdote Josué, o qual estava diante do anjo do Senhor, e Satanás estava à sua mão direita, para se lhe opor.2 Mas o Senhor disse a Satanás: O Senhor te repreenda, ó Satanás, sim, o Senhor, que escolheu Jerusalém, te repreenda; não é este um tição tirado do fogo?3 Josué, vestido de vestes sujas, estava diante do anjo.4 Então respondeu, aos que estavam diante dele, dizendo: Tirai-lhe estas vestes sujas. E a Josué disse: Eis que tenho feito com que passe de ti a tua iniquidade, e te vestirei de vestes finas.5 E disse eu: Ponham-lhe uma mitra limpa sobre a sua cabeça. E puseram uma mitra limpa sobre a sua cabeça, e vestiram-no das roupas; e o anjo do Senhor estava em pé.6 E o anjo do Senhor protestou a Josué, dizendo:7 Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Se andares nos meus caminhos, e se observares a minha ordenança, também tu julgarás a minha casa, e também guardarás os meus átrios, e te darei livre acesso entre os que estão aqui.8 Ouve, pois, Josué, sumo sacerdote, tu e os teus companheiros que se assentam diante de ti, porque são homens portentosos; eis que eu farei vir o meu servo, o renovo.9 Porque eis aqui a pedra que pus diante de Josué; sobre esta pedra única estão sete olhos; eis que eu esculpirei a sua escultura, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e tirarei a iniquidade desta terra num só dia.10 Naquele dia, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, cada um de vós convidará o seu próximo para debaixo da videira e para debaixo da figueira.

1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and the accuser standing at his right hand to accuse him.2 And the Lord said unto the accuser, The Lord rebuke thee, O Accuser; yea, the Lord rebuke thee that hath chosen Jerusalem: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?3 Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the angel.4 And he commenced and said unto those that stood before him, saying; Take away the filthy garments from him. And he said unto him, Behold, I have caused thy iniquity to pass from off thee, and I clothe thee with festive garments.5 And I said, Let them place a clean mitre upon his head. So they placed the clean mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments; rind the angel of the Lord stood by.6 And the angel of the Lord forewarned Joshua, saying,7 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then shalt thou also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by.8 Do but hear, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee; for distinguished men are they; for, behold, I will bring my servant Zemach the Sprout.9 For behold here is the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave thereon its inscription, saith the Lord of hosts, And I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.10 On that day, saith the Lord of hosts, shall ye call every man to his neighbor under the vine and under the fig–tree.
