1 Verder het die woord van die HERE tot my gekom en gesê:
2 Mensekind, profeteer en sê: So spreek die Here HERE: Huil julle! Ag, die dag!
3 Want naby is 'n dag, ja, naby is 'n dag van die HERE, 'n dag van wolke; die tyd van die nasies sal dit wees.
4 Dan sal 'n swaard in Egipte kom, en daar sal angs in Kus wees as die wat verslaan is, val in Egipte, en as hulle sy rykdom wegneem en sy fondamente afgebreek word.
5 Kus en Put,ërs en Ludiete en die hele gemengde bevolking en Kub en die kinders van die daarmee verbonde land sal saam met hulle val deur die swaard.
6 So sê die HERE: Ja, hulle sal val wat Egipte ondersteun, en sy trotse mag sal wegsink; van Migdol af tot by Siëne sal hulle daarin val deur die swaard, spreek die Here HERE.
7 En dit sal verwoes wees tussen die verwoeste lande in, en sy stede sal wees tussen die verwoeste stede in.
8 En hulle sal weet dat Ek die HERE is, as Ek 'n vuur werp in Egipte en al sy helpers verbreek word.
9 In die dag sal daar boodskappers voor My uit wegvaar in skepe om die sorgelose Kus te verskrik; en dan sal daar angs onder hulle wees soos in die dag van Egipte. Want kyk, dit kom!
10 So sê die Here HERE: Ja, Ek sal aan die menigte van Egipte 'n einde maak deur die hand van Nebukadr,sar, die koning van Babel.
11 Hy en sy volk saam met hom, die geweldigste nasies, word aangevoer om die land te verwoes; en hulle sal hul swaarde teen Egipte uittrek en die land vul met gesneuweldes.
12 En Ek sal die strome droë grond maak en die land verkoop in die hand van kwaaddoeners en die land met sy volheid verwoes deur die hand van vreemdes. Ek, die HERE, het dit gespreek.
13 So sê die Here HERE: Ek sal ook die drekgode vernietig en die afgode laat verdwyn uit Nof, en daar sal geen vors meer wees uit Egipteland nie; en Ek sal vrees in Egipteland verwek.
14 En Ek sal Patros verwoes en 'n vuur werp in Soan en strafgerigte voltrek in No.
15 En Ek sal my grimmigheid uitgiet oor Sin, die vesting van Egipte; en Ek sal die menigte van No uitroei.
16 En Ek sal 'n vuur werp in Egipte: Sin sal bewe van angs, en No sal oopgebreek word, en Nof -- vyande oordag!
17 Die jongmanne van On en Pi-Beset sal deur die swaard val, maar hulle self sal in gevangenskap gaan.
18 En in Tagp nhes word die dag duister as Ek daar die jukke van Egipte verbreek, en sy trotse mag daarin sal ophou; 'n wolk sal dit oordek, en sy dogters sal in gevangenskap gaan.
19 So sal Ek dan strafgerigte voltrek in Egipte; en hulle sal weet dat Ek die HERE is.
20 En in die elfde jaar, in die eerste maand, op die sewende van die maand, het die woord van die HERE tot my gekom en gesê:
21 Mensekind, Ek het die arm van Farao, die koning van Egipte, gebreek; en kyk, dit is nie verbind tot genesing of geswagtel tot verbinding, dat dit sterk kan word om die swaard te vat nie.
22 Daarom, so sê die Here HERE: Kyk, Ek het dit teen Farao, die koning van Egipte! En Ek sal sy arms verbreek, die sterk een en die gebreekte een, en sal die swaard uit sy hand laat val.
23 En Ek sal die Egiptenaars verstrooi onder die nasies en hulle versprei in die lande.
24 En Ek sal die arms van die koning van Babel versterk en my swaard in sy hand gee, maar Farao se arms sal Ek breek, sodat hy voor hom sal kerm soos 'n dodelike gewonde man kerm.
25 Ja, Ek sal die arms van die koning van Babel versterk, maar Farao se arms sal afval; en hulle sal weet dat Ek die HERE is as Ek my swaard in die hand van die koning van Babel gee, dat hy dit kan uitstrek oor Egipteland.
26 En Ek sal die Egiptenaars verstrooi onder die nasies en hulle versprei in die lande. So sal hulle dan weet dat Ek die HERE is.
1 The word of the Lord came to me again, saying,
2 Son of man, be a prophet, and say, These are the words of the Lord: Give a cry, Aha, for the day!
3 For the day is near, the day of the Lord is near, a day of cloud; it will be the time of the nations.
4 And a sword will come on Egypt, and cruel pain will be in Ethiopia, when they are falling by the sword in Egypt; and they will take away her wealth and her bases will be broken down.

8 And they will be certain that I am the Lord, when I have put a fire in Egypt and all her helpers are broken.
9 In that day men will go out quickly to take the news, causing fear in untroubled Ethiopia; and bitter pain will come on them as in the day of Egypt; for see, it is coming.
10 This is what the Lord has said: I will put an end to great numbers of the people of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon.
11 He and the people with him, causing fear among the nations, will be sent for the destruction of the land; their swords will be let loose against Egypt and the land will be full of dead.
12 And I will make the Nile streams dry, and will give the land into the hands of evil men, causing the land and everything in it to be wasted by the hands of men from a strange country: I the Lord have said it.
13 This is what the Lord has said: In addition to this, I will give up the images to destruction and put an end to the false gods in Noph; never again will there be a ruler in the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.
14 And I will make Pathros a waste, and put a fire in Zoan, and send my punishments on No.
15 I will let loose my wrath on Sin, the strong place of Egypt, cutting off the mass of the people of No.
16 And I will put a fire in Egypt; Syene will be twisting in pain, and No will be broken into, as by the onrush of waters.
17 The young men of On and Pi-beseth will be put to the sword: and these towns will be taken away prisoners.
18 And at Tehaphnehes the day will become dark, when the yoke of Egypt is broken there, and the pride of her power comes to an end: as for her, she will be covered with a cloud, and her daughters will be taken away prisoners.
19 And I will send my punishments on Egypt: and they will be certain that I am the Lord.
20 Now in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
21 Son of man, the arm of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, has been broken by me, and no band has been put round it to make it well, no band has been twisted round it to make it strong for gripping the sword.
22 For this cause the Lord has said: See, I am against Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and by me his strong arm will be broken; and I will make the sword go out of his hand.
23 And I will send the Egyptians in flight among the nations and wandering through the countries.
24 And I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong, and will put my sword in his hand: but Pharaoh's arms will be broken, and he will give cries of pain before him like the cries of a man wounded to death.
25 And I will make the arms of the king of Babylon strong, and the arms of Pharaoh will be hanging down; and they will be certain that I am the Lord, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and it is stretched out against the land of Egypt.
26 And I will send the Egyptians in flight among the nations and wandering through the countries; and they will be certain that I am the Lord.
