1 Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for from now on there shall no more come into you the uncircumcised and the unclean.
2 Shake yourself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose yourself from the bands of your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For thus said the LORD, You have sold yourselves for nothing; and you shall be redeemed without money.
4 For thus said the Lord GOD, My people went down aforetime into Egypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
5 Now therefore, what have I here, said the LORD, that my people is taken away for nothing? they that rule over them make them to howl, said the LORD; and my name continually every day is blasphemed.
6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that does speak: behold, it is I.
7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that said to Zion, Your God reigns!
8 Your watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
9 Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.
10 The LORD has made bore his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
11 Depart you, depart you, go you out from there, touch no unclean thing; go you out of the middle of her; be you clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.
12 For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.
13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high.
14 As many were astonished at you; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
1 Risvegliati, risvegliati; rivestiti della tua gloria, o Sion; rivestiti de’ vestimenti della tua magnificenza, o Gerusalemme, città santa; perciocchè l’incirconciso, e l’immondo, non entreranno più in te per l’innanzi.
2 Scuotiti la polvere d’addosso; levati, ed assettati, o Gerusalemme; sciogliti i legami che hai in collo, o figliuola di Sion, che sei in cattività.
3 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore: Voi siete stati venduti senza prezzo, e sarete altresì riscattati senza danari.
4 Perciocchè, così ha detto il Signore Iddio: Il mio popolo discese anticamente in Egitto per dimorarvi; ma Assur l’ha oppressato per nulla.
5 Ed ora, che ho io a far qui, dice il Signore, perchè il mio popolo sia stato menato via per nulla? quelli che lo signoreggiano lo fanno urlare, dice il Signore; ed il mio Nome del continuo, tuttodì, è bestemmiato.
6 Perciò, il mio popolo conoscerà il mio Nome; perciò, egli conoscerà in quel giorno che io son quel che parlo; eccomi
7 O quanto son belli sopra questi monti i piedi di colui che porta le buone novelle, che annunzia la pace; di colui che porta le novelle del bene, che annunzia la salute, che dice a Sion: Il tuo Dio regna!
8 Vi è un grido delle tue guardie, che hanno alzata la voce, che hanno tutte insieme dati gridi d’allegrezza; perciocchè hanno veduto con gli occhi che il Signore ha ricondotta Sion.
9 Risonate, giubilate, ruine di Gerusalemme, tutte quante; perciocchè il Signore ha consolato il suo popolo, ha riscattata Gerusalemme.
10 Il Signore ha tratto fuori il braccio della sua santità, alla vista di tutte le genti; e tutte le estremità della terra hanno veduta la salute del nostro Dio.
11 Dipartitevi, dipartitevi, uscite di là, non toccate cosa alcuna immonda; uscite del mezzo di quella; purificatevi, voi che portate i vasi del Signore.
12 Perciocchè voi non uscirete in fretta, e non camminerete in fuga; imperocchè il Signore andrà dinanzi a voi, e l’Iddio d’Israele sarà la vostra retroguardia
13 ECCO, il mio Servitore prospererà, egli sarà grandemente innalzato, esaltato, e reso eccelso.
14 Siccome molti sono stati stupefatti di te, tanto l’aspetto di esso era sformato, in maniera che non somigliava più un uomo; ed il suo sembiante, in maniera ch’egli non somigliava più uno d’infra i figliuoli degli uomini;
15 così egli cospergerà molte genti; i re si tureranno la bocca sopra lui; perciocchè vedranno ciò che non era giammai stato loro raccontato, ed intenderanno ciò che giammai non aveano udito
