1 São estes os filhos da província que subiram do cativeiro, dentre os exilados que Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, tinha levado para lá, e voltaram para Jerusalém e para Judá, cada um para a sua cidade, 2 os quais vieram com Zorobabel, Jesua, Neemias, Seraías, Reelaías, Mordecai, Bilsã, Mispar, Bigvai, Reum e Baaná. Eis o número dos homens do povo de Israel: 3 os filhos de Parós, dois mil cento e setenta e dois. 4 Os filhos de Sefatias, trezentos e setenta e dois. 5 Os filhos de Ará, setecentos e setenta e cinco. 6 Os filhos de Paate-Moabe, dos filhos de Jesua-Joabe, dois mil oitocentos e doze. 7 Os filhos de Elão, mil duzentos e cinquenta e quatro. 8 Os filhos de Zatu, novecentos e quarenta e cinco. 9 Os filhos de Zacai, setecentos e sessenta. 10 Os filhos de Bani, seiscentos e quarenta e dois. 11 Os filhos de Bebai, seiscentos e vinte e três. 12 Os filhos de Azgade, mil duzentos e vinte e dois. 13 Os filhos de Adonicão, seiscentos e sessenta e seis. 14 Os filhos de Bigvai, dois mil e cinquenta e seis. 15 Os filhos de Adim, quatrocentos e cinquenta e quatro. 16 Os filhos de Ater, da família de Ezequias, noventa e oito. 17 Os filhos de Bezai, trezentos e vinte e três. 18 Os filhos de Jora, cento e doze. 19 Os filhos de Hasum, duzentos e vinte e três. 20 Os filhos de Gibar, noventa e cinco. 21 Os filhos de Belém, cento e vinte e três. 22 Os homens de Netofa, cinquenta e seis. 23 Os homens de Anatote, cento e vinte e oito. 24 Os filhos de Azmavete, quarenta e dois. 25 Os filhos de Quiriate-Arim, Cefira e Beerote, setecentos e quarenta e três. 26 Os filhos de Ramá e de Geba, seiscentos e vinte e um. 27 Os homens de Micmás, cento e vinte e dois. 28 Os homens de Betel e Ai, duzentos e vinte e três. 29 Os filhos de Nebo, cinquenta e dois. 30 Os filhos de Magbis, cento e cinquenta e seis. 31 Os filhos do outro Elão, mil duzentos e cinquenta e quatro. 32 Os filhos de Harim, trezentos e vinte. 33 Os filhos de Lode, Hadide e Ono, setecentos e vinte e cinco. 34 Os filhos de Jericó, trezentos e quarenta e cinco. 35 Os filhos de Senaá, três mil seiscentos e trinta.

36 Os sacerdotes: os filhos de Jedaías, da casa de Jesua, novecentos e setenta e três. 37 Os filhos de Imer, mil e cinquenta e dois. 38 Os filhos de Pasur, mil duzentos e quarenta e sete. 39 Os filhos de Harim, mil e dezessete.

40 Os levitas: os filhos de Jesua e Cadmiel, dos filhos de Hodavias, setenta e quatro. 41 Os cantores: os filhos de Asafe, cento e vinte e oito. 42 Os filhos dos porteiros: os filhos de Salum, os filhos de Ater, os filhos de Talmom, os filhos de Acube, os filhos de Hatita, os filhos de Sobai; ao todo, cento e trinta e nove.

43 Os servidores do templo: os filhos de Zia, os filhos de Hasufa, os filhos de Tabaote, 44 os filhos de Queros, os filhos de Sia, os filhos de Padom, 45 os filhos de Lebana, os filhos de Hagaba, os filhos de Acube, os filhos de Hagabe, 46 os filhos de Sanlai, os filhos de Hanã, 47 os filhos de Gidel, os filhos de Gaar, os filhos de Reaías, 48 os filhos de Rezim, os filhos de Necoda, os filhos de Gazão, 49 os filhos de Uzá, os filhos de Paseia, os filhos de Besai, 50 os filhos de Asná, os filhos dos meunitas, os filhos dos nefuseus, 51 os filhos de Baquebuque, os filhos de Hacufa, os filhos de Harur, 52 os filhos de Baslute, os filhos de Meída, os filhos de Harsa, 53 os filhos de Barcos, os filhos de Sísera, os filhos de Temá, 54 os filhos de Nesias, os filhos de Hatifa.

55 Os filhos dos servos de Salomão: os filhos de Sotai, os filhos de Soferete, os filhos de Peruda, 56 os filhos de Jaala, os filhos de Darcom, os filhos de Gidel, 57 os filhos de Sefatias, os filhos de Hatil, os filhos de Poquerete-Hazebaim e os filhos de Ami. 58 Todos os servidores do templo e os filhos dos servos de Salomão, trezentos e noventa e dois.

59 Também estes subiram de Tel-Melá, Tel-Harsa, Querube, Adã e Imer, porém não puderam provar que as suas famílias e a sua linhagem eram de Israel: 60 os filhos de Delaías, os filhos de Tobias, os filhos de Necoda, seiscentos e cinquenta e dois. 61 Também dos filhos dos sacerdotes: os filhos de Habaías, os filhos de Coz, os filhos de Barzilai, que se casara com uma das filhas de Barzilai, o gileadita, e que foi chamado do nome dele. 62 Estes procuraram o seu registro nos livros genealógicos, porém o não acharam; pelo que foram tidos por imundos para o sacerdócio. 63 O governador lhes disse que não comessem das coisas sagradas, até que se levantasse um sacerdote com Urim e Tumim.

64 Toda esta congregação junta foi de quarenta e dois mil trezentos e sessenta, 65 afora os seus servos e as suas servas, que foram sete mil trezentos e trinta e sete; e tinham duzentos cantores e cantoras. 66 Os seus cavalos, setecentos e trinta e seis; os seus mulos, duzentos e quarenta e cinco; 67 os seus camelos, quatrocentos e trinta e cinco; os jumentos, seis mil setecentos e vinte.

68 Alguns dos cabeças de famílias, vindo à Casa do Senhor, a qual está em Jerusalém, deram voluntárias ofertas para a Casa de Deus, para a restaurarem no seu lugar. 69 Segundo os seus recursos, deram para o tesouro da obra, em ouro, sessenta e um mil daricos, e, em prata, cinco mil arráteis, e cem vestes sacerdotais.

70 Os sacerdotes, os levitas e alguns do povo, tanto os cantores como os porteiros e os servidores do templo habitaram nas suas cidades, como também todo o Israel.

36 The priests: the children of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred seventy and three. 37 The children of Immer, a thousand fifty and two. 38 The children of Pashhur, a thousand two hundred forty and seven. 39 The children of Harim, a thousand and seventeen.

40 The Levites: the children of Jeshua and Kadmiel, of the children of Hodaviah, seventy and four. 41 The singers: the children of Asaph, a hundred twenty and eight. 42 The children of the porters: the children of Shallum, the children of Ater, the children of Talmon, the children of Akkub, the children of Hatita, the children of Shobai, in all a hundred thirty and nine.

43 The Nethinim: the children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth, 44 the children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon, 45 the children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub, 46 the children of Hagab, the children of Shamlai, the children of Hanan, 47 the children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah, 48 the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam, 49 the children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai, 50 the children of Asnah, the children of Meunim, the children of Nephisim, 51 the children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur, 52 the children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha, 53 the children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Temah, 54 the children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

55 The children of Solomon’s servants: the children of Sotai, the children of Hassophereth, the children of Peruda, 56 the children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel, 57 the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth-hazzebaim, the children of Ami. 58 All the Nethinim, and the children of Solomon’s servants, were three hundred ninety and two.

59 And these were they that went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addan, and Immer; but they could not show their fathers’ houses, and their seed, whether they were of Israel: 60 the children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred fifty and two. 61 And of the children of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name. 62 These sought their register among those that were reckoned by genealogy, but they were not found: therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood. 63 And the governor said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and with Thummim.

64 The whole assembly together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore, 65 besides their men-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: and they had two hundred singing men and singing women. 66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five; 67 their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.

68 And some of the heads of fathers’ houses, when they came to the house of Jehovah which is in Jerusalem, offered willingly for the house of God to set it up in its place: 69 they gave after their ability into the treasury of the work threescore and one thousand darics of gold, and five thousand pounds of silver, and one hundred priests’ garments.

70 So the priests, and the Levites, and some of the people, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinim, dwelt in their cities, and all Israel in their cities.

59 The following came up from the towns of Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Kerub, Addon and Immer, but they could not show that their families were descended from Israel:

60 The descendants of Delaiah, Tobiah and Nekoda 652

61 And from among the priests: The descendants of Hobaiah, Hakkoz and Barzillai (a man who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by that name).

62 These searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.

63 The governor ordered them not to eat any of the most sacred food until there was a priest ministering with the Urim and Thummim.

64 The whole company numbered 42,360,

65 besides their 7,337 male and female slaves; and they also had 200 male and female singers.

66 They had 736 horses, 245 mules,

67 435 camels and 6,720 donkeys.

68 When they arrived at the house of the LORD in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God on its site.

69 According to their ability they gave to the treasury for this work 61,000 darics "of gold, 5,000 minas "of silver and 100 priestly garments.

70 The priests, the Levites, the musicians, the gatekeepers and the temple servants settled in their own towns, along with some of the other people, and the rest of the Israelites settled in their towns.
