1 Desperta, desperta, reveste-te da tua fortaleza, ó Sião; veste-te das tuas roupagens formosas, ó Jerusalém, cidade santa; porque não mais entrará em ti nem incircunciso nem imundo. 2 Sacode-te do pó, levanta-te e toma assento, ó Jerusalém; solta-te das cadeias de teu pescoço, ó cativa filha de Sião.

3 Porque assim diz o Senhor: Por nada fostes vendidos; e sem dinheiro sereis resgatados. 4 Porque assim diz o Senhor Deus: O meu povo no princípio desceu ao Egito, para nele habitar, e a Assíria sem razão o oprimiu. 5 Agora, que farei eu aqui, diz o Senhor, visto ter sido o meu povo levado sem preço? Os seus tiranos sobre ele dão uivos, diz o Senhor; e o meu nome é blasfemado incessantemente todo o dia. 6 Por isso, o meu povo saberá o meu nome; portanto, naquele dia, saberá que sou eu quem fala: Eis-me aqui.

7 Que formosos são sobre os montes os pés do que anuncia as boas-novas, que faz ouvir a paz, que anuncia coisas boas, que faz ouvir a salvação, que diz a Sião: O teu Deus reina! 8 Eis o grito dos teus atalaias! Eles erguem a voz, juntamente exultam; porque com seus próprios olhos distintamente veem o retorno do Senhor a Sião. 9 Rompei em júbilo, exultai à uma, ó ruínas de Jerusalém; porque o Senhor consolou o seu povo, remiu a Jerusalém. 10 O Senhor desnudou o seu santo braço à vista de todas as nações; e todos os confins da terra verão a salvação do nosso Deus.

11 Retirai-vos, retirai-vos, saí de lá, não toqueis coisa imunda; saí do meio dela, purificai-vos, vós que levais os utensílios do Senhor. 12 Porquanto não saireis apressadamente, nem vos ireis fugindo; porque o Senhor irá adiante de vós, e o Deus de Israel será a vossa retaguarda.

13 Eis que o meu Servo procederá com prudência; será exaltado e elevado e será mui sublime. 14 Como pasmaram muitos à vista dele (pois o seu aspecto estava mui desfigurado, mais do que o de outro qualquer, e a sua aparência, mais do que a dos outros filhos dos homens), 15 assim causará admiração às nações, e os reis fecharão a sua boca por causa dele; porque aquilo que não lhes foi anunciado verão, e aquilo que não ouviram entenderão.

1 Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean. 2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit on thy throne, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bonds of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.

3 For thus saith Jehovah, Ye were sold for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money. 4 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah, My people went down at the first into Egypt to sojourn there: and the Assyrian hath oppressed them without cause. 5 Now therefore, what do I here, saith Jehovah, seeing that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them do howl, saith Jehovah, and my name continually all the day is blasphemed. 6 Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak; behold, it is I.

7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace, that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation, that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! 8 The voice of thy watchmen! they lift up the voice, together do they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when Jehovah returneth to Zion. 9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem; for Jehovah hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem. 10 Jehovah hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; cleanse yourselves, ye that bear the vessels of Jehovah. 12 For ye shall not go out in haste, neither shall ye go by flight: for Jehovah will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rearward.

13 Behold, my servant shall deal wisely, he shall be exalted and lifted up, and shall be very high. 14 Like as many were astonished at thee (his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men), 15 so shall he sprinkle many nations; kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they understand.

1 Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.

2 Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, Daughter Zion, now a captive.

3 For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing, and without money you will be redeemed."

4 For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "At first my people went down to Egypt to live; lately, Assyria has oppressed them.

5 "And now what do I have here?" declares the LORD. "For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock, "" declares the LORD. "And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.

6 Therefore my people will know my name; therefore in that day they will know that it is I who foretold it. Yes, it is I."

7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

8 Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy. When the LORD returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes.

9 Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.

10 The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.

11 Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the articles of the LORD's house.

12 But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

13 See, my servant will act wisely "; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.

14 Just as there were many who were appalled at him "— his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness —

15 so he will sprinkle many nations, "and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.
