1 Os filhos de Levi foram: Gérson, Coate e Merari. 2 Os filhos de Coate: Anrão, Isar, Hebrom e Uziel. 3 Os filhos de Anrão: Arão, Moisés e Miriã. Os filhos de Arão: Nadabe, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar. 4 Eleazar gerou a Fineias, e Fineias, a Abisua; 5 Abisua gerou a Buqui, e Buqui, a Uzi; 6 Uzi gerou a Zeraías, e Zeraías, a Meraiote; 7 Meraiote gerou a Amarias, e Amarias, a Aitube; 8 Aitube gerou a Zadoque, e Zadoque, a Aimaás; 9 Aimaás gerou a Azarias, e Azarias, a Joanã; 10 Joanã gerou a Azarias; este é o que serviu de sacerdote na casa que Salomão tinha edificado em Jerusalém. 11 Azarias gerou a Amarias, e Amarias, a Aitube; 12 Aitube gerou a Zadoque, e Zadoque, a Salum; 13 Salum gerou a Hilquias, e Hilquias, a Azarias; 14 Azarias gerou a Seraías, e Seraías, a Jeozadaque; 15 Jeozadaque foi levado cativo, quando o Senhor levou para o exílio a Judá e a Jerusalém pela mão de Nabucodonosor. 16 Os filhos de Levi: Gérson, Coate e Merari. 17 São estes os nomes dos filhos de Gérson: Libni e Simei. 18 Os filhos de Coate: Anrão, Isar, Hebrom e Uziel. 19 Os filhos de Merari: Mali e Musi; são estas as famílias dos levitas, segundo as casas de seus pais. 20 O filho de Gérson foi Libni, de quem foi filho Jaate, de quem foi filho Zima, 21 de quem foi filho Joá, de quem foi filho Ido, de quem foi filho Zerá, de quem foi filho Jeaterai. 22 O filho de Coate foi Aminadabe, de quem foi filho Coré, de quem foi filho Assir, 23 de quem foi filho Elcana, de quem foi filho Ebiasafe, de quem foi filho Assir, 24 de quem foi filho Taate, de quem foi filho Uriel, de quem foi filho Uzias, de quem foi filho Saul. 25 Os filhos de Elcana: Amasai e Aimote. 26 Quanto a Elcana, foi seu filho Zofai, de quem foi filho Naate, 27 de quem foi filho Eliabe, de quem foi filho Jeroão, de quem foi filho Elcana. 28 Os filhos de Samuel: o primogênito, Joel, e depois Abias. 29 O filho de Merari foi Mali, de quem foi filho Libni, de quem foi filho Simei, de quem foi filho Uzá, 30 de quem foi filho Simeia, de quem foi filho Hagias, de quem foi filho Asaías.

31 São estes os que Davi constituiu para dirigir o canto na Casa do Senhor, depois que a arca teve repouso. 32 Ministravam diante do tabernáculo da tenda da congregação com cânticos, até que Salomão edificou a Casa do Senhor em Jerusalém; e exercitavam o seu ministério segundo a ordem prescrita. 33 São estes os que serviam com seus filhos. Dos filhos dos coatitas: Hemã, o cantor, filho de Joel, filho de Samuel, 34 filho de Elcana, filho de Jeroão, filho de Eliel, filho de Toá, 35 filho de Zufe, filho de Elcana, filho de Maate, filho de Amasai, 36 filho de Elcana, filho de Joel, filho de Azarias, filho de Sofonias, 37 filho de Taate, filho de Assir, filho de Ebiasafe, filho de Coré, 38 filho de Isar, filho de Coate, filho de Levi, filho de Israel. 39 Seu irmão Asafe estava à sua direita; era Asafe filho de Berequias, filho de Simeia, 40 filho de Micael, filho de Baaseias, filho de Malquias, 41 filho de Etni, filho de Zera, filho de Adaías, 42 filho de Etã, filho de Zima, filho de Simei, 43 filho de Jaate, filho de Gérson, filho de Levi. 44 Seus irmãos, os filhos de Merari, estavam à esquerda, a saber: Etã, filho de Quisi, filho de Abdi, filho de Maluque, 45 filho de Hasabias, filho de Amazias, filho de Hilquias, 46 filho de Anzi, filho de Bani, filho de Semer, 47 filho de Mali, filho de Musi, filho de Merari, filho de Levi. 48 Seus irmãos, os levitas, foram postos para todo o serviço do tabernáculo da Casa de Deus.

49 Arão e seus filhos faziam ofertas sobre o altar do holocausto e sobre o altar do incenso, todo o serviço do lugar santíssimo e a expiação por Israel, segundo tudo quanto Moisés, servo de Deus, tinha ordenado. 50 Foi filho de Arão Eleazar, de quem foi filho Fineias, de quem foi filho Abisua, 51 de quem foi filho Buqui, de quem foi filho Uzi, de quem foi filho Zeraías, 52 de quem foi filho Meraiote, de quem foi filho Amarias, de quem foi filho Aitube, 53 de quem foi filho Zadoque, de quem foi filho Aimaás.

54 São estes os lugares que eles habitavam, segundo os seus acampamentos, dentro dos seus limites, a saber: aos filhos de Arão, das famílias dos coatitas, pois lhes caiu a sorte, 55 deram-lhes Hebrom, na terra de Judá, e os seus arredores. 56 Porém o campo da cidade com suas aldeias deram a Calebe, filho de Jefoné. 57 Aos filhos de Arão deram as cidades de refúgio: Hebrom e Libna com seus arredores, Jatir e Estemoa com seus arredores, 58 Hilém com seus arredores, Debir com seus arredores, 59 Asã com seus arredores e Bete-Semes com seus arredores; 60 da tribo de Benjamim, Geba com seus arredores, Alemete com seus arredores e Anatote com seus arredores; ao todo, treze cidades, segundo as suas famílias.

61 Aos filhos de Coate, que restaram da família da tribo, caíram por sorte dez cidades da meia tribo, metade de Manassés. 62 Aos filhos de Gérson, segundo as suas famílias, da tribo de Issacar, da tribo de Aser, da tribo de Naftali e da tribo de Manassés, em Basã, caíram treze cidades. 63 Aos filhos de Merari, segundo as suas famílias, da tribo de Rúben, da tribo de Gade e da tribo de Zebulom, caíram por sorte doze cidades. 64 Assim, deram os filhos de Israel aos levitas estas cidades com seus arredores. 65 Deram-lhes por sorte, da tribo dos filhos de Judá, da tribo dos filhos de Simeão e da tribo dos filhos de Benjamim, estas cidades, que são mencionadas nominalmente. 66 A algumas das famílias dos filhos de Coate foram dadas cidades dos seus territórios da parte da tribo de Efraim. 67 Pois lhes deram as cidades de refúgio, Siquém com seus arredores, na região montanhosa de Efraim, como também Gezer com seus arredores, 68 Jocmeão com seus arredores, Bete-Horom com seus arredores, 69 Aijalom com seus arredores e Gate-Rimom com seus arredores; 70 e, da meia tribo de Manassés, Aner com seus arredores e Bileã com seus arredores foram dadas às demais famílias dos filhos de Coate.

71 Aos filhos de Gérson, da família da meia tribo de Manassés, deram, em Basã, Golã com seus arredores e Astarote com seus arredores; 72 e da tribo de Issacar: Quedes com seus arredores, Daberate com seus arredores, 73 Ramote com seus arredores e Aném com seus arredores; 74 e da tribo de Aser: Masal com seus arredores, Abdom com seus arredores, 75 Hucoque com seus arredores e Reobe com seus arredores; 76 e da tribo de Naftali na Galileia: Quedes com seus arredores, Hamom com seus arredores e Quiriataim com seus arredores. 77 Os demais filhos de Merari receberam, da tribo de Zebulom, Rimono com seus arredores e Tabor com seus arredores; 78 e dalém do Jordão, na altura de Jericó, ao oriente do Jordão, deram-se-lhes, da tribo de Rúben, Bezer com seus arredores no deserto, Jaza com seus arredores, 79 Quedemote com seus arredores e Mefaate com seus arredores; 80 e da tribo de Gade em Gileade: Ramote com seus arredores, Maanaim com seus arredores, 81 Hesbom com seus arredores e Jazer com seus arredores.

2 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 And the children of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

4 Eleazar begot Phinehas, Phinehas begot Abishua;

5 and Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi;

6 and Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth;

7 Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub;

8 and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz;

9 and Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan;

10 and Johanan begot Azariah--he it is that executed the priest's office in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem--

11 and Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub;

12 and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum;

13 and Shallum begot Hilkiah, and Hilkiah begot Azariah;

14 and Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak;

15 and Jehozadak went into captivity, when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

16 The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath and Merari.

17 And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni, and Shimei.

18 And the sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 The sons of Merari: Mahli, and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

20 Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son;

21 Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeatherai his son.

22 The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son;

23 Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son;

24 Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Shaul his son.

25 And the sons of Elkanah: Amasai, and Ahimoth.

26 As for Elkanah: the sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nahath his son;

27 Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.

28 And the sons of Samuel: the first-born Vashni; then Abiah.

29 The sons of Merari: Mahli; Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzzah his son;

30 Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

31 And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of the LORD, after that the ark had rest.

32 And they ministered with song before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, until Solomon had built the house of the LORD in Jerusalem; and they took their station at their service according to their order.

33 And these are they that took their station, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel;

34 the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah;

35 the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai;

36 the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah;

37 the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah;

38 the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39 And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand; even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea;

40 the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah;

41 the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah;

42 the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei;

43 the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

44 And on the left hand their brethren the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch;

45 the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah;

46 the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer;

47 the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 And their brethren the Levites were appointed for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

49 But Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of burnt-offering, and upon the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

50 And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son;

51 Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son;

52 Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son;

53 Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

54 Now these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments in their borders: to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, for theirs was the first lot,

55 to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and the open land round about it;

56 but the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

57 And to the sons of Aaron they gave the city of refuge, Hebron; Libnah also with the open land about it, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with the open land about it;

58 and Hilen with the open land about it, Debir with the open land about it;

59 and Ashan with the open land about it, and Beth-shemesh with the open land about it;

60 and out of the tribe of Benjamin: Geba with the open land about it, and Alemeth with the open land about it, and Anathoth with the open land about it. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.

61 And unto the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.

62 And to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 Unto the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

64 So the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with the open land about them.

65 And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.

66 And some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim.

67 And they gave unto them the city of refuge, Shechem in the hill-country of Ephraim with the open land about it; Gezer also with the open land about it;

68 and Jokmeam with the open land about it, and Bethhoron with the open land about it;

69 and Aijalon with the open land about it, and Gath-rimmon with the open land about it;

70 and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Aner with the open land about it, and Bileam with the open land about it, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.

71 Unto the sons of Gershom were given, out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with the open land about it, and Ashtaroth with the open land about it;

72 and out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh with the open land about it, Dobrath with the open land about it;

73 and Ramoth with the open land about it, and Anem with the open land about it;

74 and out of the tribe of Asher: Mashal with the open land about it, and Abdon with the open land about it;

75 and Hukok with the open land about it; and Rehob with the open land about it;

76 and out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee with the open land about it, and Hammon with the open land about it, and Kiriathaim with the open land about it.

77 Unto the rest of the Levites , the sons of Merari, were given, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with the open land about it, Tabor with the open land about it;

78 and beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them, out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with the open land about it, and Jahaz with the open land about it,

79 and Kedemoth with the open land about it, and Mephaath with the open land about it;

80 and out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead with the open land about it, and Mahanaim with the open land about it,

81 and Heshbon with the open land about it, and Jazer with the open land about it.
